How to tell if order failed.

We're new to the game, but got to a point where we are making orders but it's not accepting them.

After a while we realized the failed orders stay on the board but you can't make them...
but how can you tell which are undoable and which are legit?

All of them work. What you are seeing is the game trying to help you, and you not realizing it. The game doesn't give your orders to the first in line, it gives it to the one closest to timing out. Before you time out an order, that happens to be the first in line each time, but when an order times out its timer resets. Thus, if there is a second identical order later in the line, it has a shorter timer, and thus is fulfilled first. It can easily get confusing trying to work out which order you should be doing once one has failed since you have to look for the timers and not just the one in front, but its doable. Of course, the best strategy is just to never time out an order.

I want to agree with Nibble that all of the orders should work if you are trying to send them out regardless of a previous failed order. The game will not accept any orders without plates however. Is it possible that you tried submitting a cooked order without a plate?
