Playstation controller prompts

Hi everyone! Does windows version of this game support Playstation controller prompts? (the little icons that are shown for each button inside the game).

I'm playing with a PS3 controller, Steam detects it as a Playstation controller and it shows me the right button images within steam. But when I open Overcooked! 2 the button prompts are from Xbox controller.

I played this game in a Macbook pro with the same controllers and the game displayed the right prompts.

Hi elmatyf,

While the game supports the use of the DualShock/Switch/Third Party controllers, there is no update planned to support these button prompts at this time and they will default to the Xbox button artwork, regardless of controller used.

Hey @brett_team17 do you mean for windows version?. Because in Mac version I see Playstation button prompts, look at this: https://i.imgur.com/VnkG4zy.png

That's why I thought it could be something already implemented but not working as expected.

Thanks for a brutally honest answer. Unfortunately this has seriously dampened my interrest in buying the game. My wife would never get into a game that shows the wrong icons. (And getting Xbox controllers are out of the question)

That is very disappointing to hear. I wish more devs would add native DS4 support to their game.

actually, when you connect the xbox controller on mac, it will show the ps4 icon. and the action buttons never work properly.

The same problem here, I wanted to play with my wife but we wanted the right buttons

Its kind of unfortunate that the game is a year since launch and this issue was never addressed.

+1 to the problem of the Mac version showing Playstation icons when using an xbox controller, and having flaky controller support

A simple configuration option to switch between PS and XBOX icons was sufficient. I have PS controllers and don't want to buy XBOX controllers. My friends find the wrong icons on the screen too confusing (and I agree with them). Problem for overcooked (1 and 2), moving out and many other games ... Very unfortunate and incomprehensible that this is not taken into account.

Agreed. The buttons are super annoying when playing with your little nephew for example. "No, X means square, not X!" 😏
Should absolutely be changed!

Add a Steam workshop for the game and let someone mod the correct buttons...
