New Game+ Update - Now Live!

Hello Chefs!

We’ve cooked up a special treat for you, just in time for the weekend!
We’re excited to announce that the first content update for Overcooked! 2 is fresh out of the oven, and it includes New Game+!

Get ready to chop, mix, fry and bake your way to 4 Stars!

Here’s what’s on the menu:

Changelist:

• New Game + added (unlocks once all the story mode levels have been completed in Campaign)
  
• Added a couple of treats for players who complete New Game+
  
• Story mode: Chefs can now be changed through the pause menu when on the World Map
  
• Star boundaries for all levels are now displayed on the world map, loading screen, and the results screen
  
• Story mode: Levels now display a preview image on the World Map
  
• Updated description for “Dinner Party Posse” achievement text to specify Arcade mode.

Yeah, we always have max score from tips. Well, we need to try harder I guess. But it still seems impossible.

Guys..how do you start ng+? Because I think we just overwrote our finished save with a regular new one and it's not ng+. We just pressed "start new game" assuming that the finished save with a plus sign on it starts it. (I think, me and my partner did smth stupid and pretty much hugely messed up)

You just have to continue playing. NG+ unlocks AFTER beating the last level on the same save slot. But yeah, "new game +" is misleading, because it sounds like you should start "new game".

I am not sure that's misleading. All NG+ I've played always continued on the same save. It's just sometimes the story progress is wiped and forcesyou to start from beginning. Still that's on same save.

We have the same feeling. There is a big difference between sense of achievment and
discouragement and this difference is called feasibility.

We are disappointed and waiting to see if a fix will be applied

For now we didn't see the point to try again, and again and again a level only to see that we are still 400 points from the 4th star..

Well basically we chose that exact save file because it had a plus sign on it, it seemed logical. We thought that choosing new game on it would ask smth like "would you like a ng plus run here". We did not choose continue cause it seemed like just continuing that game, maybe for better scores, not starting the new one there. New game + always starts like a new game on the existing save not by continuing the old one (basically because it's already finished).

I hope what I am saying makes sence, sorry for my English. It's not a big problem, a bit unpleasant to start over, but nothing hurtful.

Oh, I get your point now. I just tried "New game" and yeah, that does look misleading, especially the plus sign.

I didn't attempt to start a new game previously as I saw the 4th star already after finishing the game and most games with NG+ I've played always prompted me without me having to go through menu explicitly. If people ends up wiping their saves this way, then dev should probably try to make it more clearer.

I ruined my save file as well by hitting new game instead of continue over a 100% run

Hitting new game does not ruin the save file, just creates a second one, you can load the previous save by selecting load game

that would be the case if I didn't have 2 other files (from playing with friends)
I will get back to 100% eventually, it just sucks having to invest more time to get to a point you've been before due to a misunderstanding.

I'm playing with my partner and we are really enjoying this update. We're going step by step, level by level in order (3-2 currently, including Kevin 1 and 2) and it's hard, but it's plausible with a few tries and good coordination. What we do is play until we get the 4th star in 2 or 3 levels and then we stop for a mental break because you gotta focus hard on some of them, but heck, this game+ is great!

Congratulations! Just a sugestion; we really need the achievement for unlocking all 4 stars so people know that we're no longer humans, but cooking gods

For me and my friend (duo) who completed all 3-stars in all levels, even the first 1-1 for 4 stars seems impossible. Is Game+ designed for 4-man squad?
