1. Less people would buy Overcooked 1.
2. You'd be overpowered if you had the throwing ability on some of the levels.
3. You'd feel gimped if they removed the throwing ability to counteract that.
4. That's a lot of extra work for something they've already made on a different game.
The only way I could see that being a feasible option is if they charged us money for the additional levels, which would probably make people mad.
I agree it would be pointless to buy the first game, but at this point, is anyone buying it? It might be worth bringing those older levels over to this game since it has online multiplayer (maybe?). They can also disable the throwing mechanic in these older levels with a simple boolean statement in their code since these older levels were designed without throwing items to begin with.
Unfortunately, the developers saw fit, to change the game physics in the sequel.
The dash speed is different for example, plus you can throw objects. Even if they disabled throwing, the dash is just 'off' and not right unfortunately.
I have no idea why, because the simple act of moving around was more fluid / fun in the original. Something about the new dash just kind of sucks.
Due to this change, they can't just pop the levels in, someone would have to tweak and re-test the whole thing for timings again.
