And your experiance making video games is? In order for a sever to recognize a packet is from a certain platform you must code the client to write it's plaform to the packet, and the server to read it. This is not some miracle that just happens when you start working on the networking for a game.
It's all controlled. It's the reason why some games won't work for crossplay with Nintendo Switch or PS4. Because Nintendo and Sony don't allow that kind of access.

Its how they can enforce thier anti consumer policies. But the software still needs added to to handle "seperating" the game.
So if you say you're not ruling it out, the same way you did not rule out Multiplayer for Overcooked, that means you're considering cross-platform for Overcooked 3 only ?
I had to wait 15-20 minutes to find a game this morning... Cross platform would definately help with that.
