There are no current plans to add controller remapping to the game, but I'll pass your feedback onto the dev team.
From there you should be able to remap which button does what, though the in-game prompts will stay the same as the original settings - so if you remap the dash/menu cancel to activate when you press X, the game will still show the B button in prompts.
Thank you! This is very helpful. I didn't know you could do this at all. Not sure why Team17 is being stingy about it. I've tried coding before and remapping keys is the easiest of all the codes o.o
