And the gameplay is old
it wouldnt sell enough compared to how much it would cost to make it.
Thus a remake like they did with RE2, wasnt Sniper Elite well received when it launched, of course it takes money to make money but this seems like a cash grab.
Saw a comparison video: Might benefit console players but PC players dont get much out of this remaster. The enemy in Sniper Elite was not German but mainly Soviet NKVD (Later KGB).
V2 is a masterpiece with full coop experience and cool gameplay, is the best game of all franchise, it's not boring like 3 and not ''''sandboxzzzz'' like 4, it's nice and visceral
"Sniper Elite (also known as Sniper Elite: Berlin 1945) is a third-person tactical shooter stealth video game developed by Rebellion Developments and published by MC2 France in Europe and by Namco Hometek in North America, in 2005. In 2012, to coincide with the release of the remake Sniper Elite V2, it was re-issued through Steam by Rebellion itself."
From Sniper Elite V2 Wiki:
"In 2011, Rebellion announced that it was co-publishing the title with 505 Games.[9] Due for release in May 2012, the game was described as a "reboot" of the original Sniper Elite, rather than a sequel."
Because V2 is a reboot\remake of the first game (albiet with a slightly altered story)? It wouldn't make sense.
So, basically, the first game already had a remaster - V2.
To do another remake of SE1 would not not make sense in the context of the greater story, unless they suddenly turned SE into a Sci-fi series with secret cloning labs and other nonsense. Both games take place at the exact same time (per the wiki for SE2) so there would be no way for him to be in two sections of Berlin at once, on two separate missions, fighting two separate enemies.
They could easily remake SE1 as a standalone title and call it Snipers or something like that.
I never thought about buying SE1 because I was struggling with the SE2 keyboard controls and associated limitations. I started with SE3, went to SE4, and then I tried SE2. This was possibly the wrong order. So I ignored SE1.
Is SE1 possibly to be considered?
Absolutely, here you snipe for the most part Soviet NKVD thugs. Its available on PC and PS2.
Because SE:V2 is a PC game not a frkn console game. Learn to play the game on a PC and you'll do fine. They ruined 3 & 4 porting it to a console game then back to PC. Ruined any satisfaction I had for the game and the developers.
What I didn't understand was,why did they screw up 3 & 4 then, come back with NZA 1 & 2 then, Trilogy with NZA 1 & 2 included with the same control settings as SE:V2?
