I feel like this guy is the only one in the thread who knows what he is talking about. Especially since almost everyone else just chirped "i like x one" with no reasons added. Everyone else can just go back to COD. V2 was a garbage fire due to the magic enemies who all know how to cast ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blink, and also 0 stealth. They remind me of the guards in oblivion who would all converge on you in a 30 mile radius the moment you accidentally touched somebody's turnips.
I agree with all this. Sniper Elite 5 will probably be like SE 4, but perhaps improved even more.
All SE games had a great upgrade on each sequel.
Sniper Elite 4 also have online server browser, and you can join co-op games already in progress too.
Wow, a dev actually responded!
Generally I'd say they've been getting better over time, save for isolated incidents like the final mission of 3. I loved that 4 had multiple playable characters (for coop purposes), as I was never a fan of the "Clone Army Syndrome".
My biggest disappointment with 4 was not being able to assassinate Mussolini. Hopefully for the next game you can give us a more varied range of "special missions" (Himmler, Goering, Reinhard Heydrich, Hideki Tojo)
I don't expect them to rework the game to change it's "shooting gallery" formule but making AI less omniscient after first bullet is shot would've been great. At the very least bring AI up to SE3 standard where stealth was relatively possible with constant repositioning.
That is why I would really like to know if they fixed the behavior and playstyle in the remaster, or if all they did is slap some pretty graphics on the broken stealth game.
And sure, some might like the run and gun play, but that is not sniper play.
