The game also has a known issue with mobile chipsets, so I'm curious if the Steam Deck manages to get around it or not.
force_compat_shaders=true %command%
in the set launch settings. Most of everything works EXCEPT for custom BGM. It has the same issue as SRW 30 where if you try to play a custom BGM, all you get is silence. If you were to equip it, the default character song would play instead.
Rarely, it would crash trying to boot up the game from steam menu. When that happens, just verify file integrity and wait an eternity and it'll fix itself. Game does not work well in desktop mode; all you see a a very small screen for ants about 1/3 the size of the Steam deck screen.
HOWEVER Warning, Do NOT change the resolution in the settings of the game. Doing so makes the Deck crash and reboot, you will have to reboot the game 1 or 2 more times after that before it seems to revert back to the default config.
This is probably why its listed as "Unsupported"
But otherwise, ty indeed, that did solve the white screen issue. Now I have a hard choice... playing this or Robot Wars 30 lol.
Just to had
cause I tested it to
The command work (you need proton Experimantal)
force_compat_shaders=true %command%
But for me the game only starts in desktop mode (it crashes with game mode)
It's starting but the resolution is set in 4k by default on my Steamdeck...
At this point you need to change the resolution
It's the last parameter of the last configuration tab
(I had to download the game to my PC to see hat I was doing...)
Then it's work fwalessly ;)
The only downside is that you can't launch it from gamemode
At least I haven't found a way
I had played the game on my computer before
Maybe it's saved it to steamlcloud and put it on my deck after
I poked the bear and changed the resolution to 1280x800 and it did not like that at all. If you do this, it will restart the steam deck, though you can reset thing by just starting the game and re-crashing it a couple of times. I did find that 1280x768 seems to work though :)
How exactly do you make this Work (what the Heck is a command Line)
I know it might be some extra Work For you to explain but please,i Beg you,this is one of my favorite Games on the Switch and I really want to Play ist again on the Deck. Thanks Form your Help,
A fellow Gundam Player.
force_compat_shaders=true %command%
and would help to know which language you speak so others may be able to speak in the same language. =D
My option for my steam deck won’t be ready until October (or later) so could get support by then anyway (I doubt but who knows)
It works mostly. Save often and be prepared for a few lockups on screen transitions(How did they code this thing?).
I kept on failing at certain parts. Experimental proton and the command "force_compat_shaders=true %command%" wasn't enough.
You have to enable Beta participation in the system menu.
After that i ran into an issue where the screen was too small to fit the screens.
You have to force the res to 1900x1200. After that everything worked perfectly.
