Report a translation problem
But the profiles for everything are often a bit off. The DLC is a bit more of a mixed bag. Makes you wonder even more why they're charging 50% of the price of the base game for about 10% of the units and yet they still rush it and do worse translations.
Either way though, it's not that bad. Digimon Story Cybersleuth is hands down the worst translation I have ever purchased in about 30 years of gaming, and it's also from Bandai Namco. I can't even make out the plot of the first game halfway through because it goes off the rails with the translations making absolutely no sense. The game also fails to properly identify the gender of many characters, calling not just the player character if you are Female a Male quite often, but often doing it to static NPCs which are also female and are similarly called male for... some reason.
That or everyone in certain segments of the game are all crossdressers, who knows.
I don't mind some errors here and there, like with SD Gundam Cross Rays I'm not upset about any of it, other than I have no idea what a lot of these characters are and it would be nice to have accurate translations, especially because some of these characters only have descriptions written in Japanese usually. Wikis are hit and miss about some of that.
But when it came to Digimon Cybersleuth, it was a detriment to my enjoyment of the game because I had no idea what the story was anymore, didn't know where to go because instructions weren't translated properly, had no idea what all of the characters are because they often mixed up the names of multiple characters, making the story extremely confusing...
But gameplay screen such as abilities and weapon effect need a lot of work. Some of them misread the actual effect entirely
Like Knowledge lv2 in English claim to boost critical damage but actually it boosts weapon critical chance.
Underwater Handling that claim to work on Ground/Surface actually only work in Underwater terrain. The Ground/Surface came from big misunderstanding word of 水陸両用 which mean land and water in japanese. They actually try to refer to an "Amphibious" unit like the G00hN, ASH or Superbia GN-X which they're designed to perform from water to land tactic.
All except "critical" weapon effect works without critical hit
Though the lack in information for example both Ranged and Melee also affects damage and the lackluster description on most abilities and skill also happen in Japanese version so that's another story.
Aside some errors here and there, I don't mind too much the translation, but what irks me (other than what I said before) is that there are too many edits battle lines wise for my taste (but this is coming from a japanese reader and translator as a hobby, so take this with a grain of salt).
Yeah, I think they were looking for the term 'gynophobia', and completely failing to find it. I've noticed the edited battle-lines myself, too, and again found them amusing due to the similar kind of scenarios you can encounter with fansubs. The subtitles have some kind of lengthy line, and while reading it, you're just hearing the pilot go "Grraaaaarrrgh!" Classic!
Ehhhhh, pretty much. XD
