Mightiest Gundam of them all!
...or, y'know, just the mightiest MS, really, but odds are it's a Gundam. I'm just wondering, really - there's no shortage of hideously overpowered suits in this game, but which one is the strongest OF THEM ALL! DLC included. So far, the Mobile Fighters seem to reign supreme - adding a couple of key skills to Domon Kashu and Master Asia, notably something to get them to Super High morale faster, turns their suits into absolute juggernauts. But honestly, I've yet to do much more than scratch the surface of this game's enormous roster.

While we're on the subject, which is the strongest of the XL-class Mobile Armors? Which is the most powerful Battleship you can obtain? And are there any really powerful S-class suits or fighter-jet types?

Well, the best Fighter Jet Type unit in my opinion would be the Exass (11500 HP, 120 EN, 200 ATK, 175 DEF, 235 MOB, and 7 Movement), along with carrying an Awaken weapon, it is as good as it gets for fighter jets, You can get it from the Zamza-Zah and by following this pattern of unit: Moebius Linear Gun - Moebius Zero - Exass. It is however: only capable of Space Combat, there just aren't that many good fighter jet units in the game, even things like the Skygrasper and the Exass Tragically lag behind MS. (And even MS that cannot go into space can go into space with an SFS under them, but Mobile Armours cannot)

I was afraid of that... I've already flown an Exass and enjoyed it, but I guess that's as good as it gets. How about the 0 Raiser, or whatever it's called, though? I noticed its silhouette while working towards the 00 Quatr, but haven't actually developed one yet. Considering how powerful the 00 line seems to be in general, I was hoping it might surprise me!

The 0 Raiser can be used both in space and atmospheric combat, it has 12100 HP, 120 EN, 215, ATK, 190 Def, 275 MOB, and 7 Movement, but it only has a 2800 attack power GN beam Machine Gun, and 3000 power GN Micro Missiles, and its range caps out at 4, all in all: Would not take it over the Exass.

I see... guess the Exass' Awakening-based weapon is what sets it apart. Either way, it doesn't look like there's any helping the fact that the era of fighter-jets have passed! (Oh, and I just managed to score the Destroy Gundam. Daaaaamn that thing is epic! A walking fortress indeed!)

If you're in the postgame and are using the DLC, the Moebius Zero is considered to be ridiculously good... if Sochie is the pilot, as it activates both the "Fighter Jet" and "Size S" abilities she passively has, and it has an awaken weapon. I say in the postgame because you can take it down into the atmosphere once you do all the silver-rank modification quests, as there is one part that allows you to take space-only units into the atmosphere (and another to take air (and possibly ground/underwater? Not really tested) into space, which is more useful for ships and MAs as suits can just hop onto a SFS to be deployed in space anyway)

I WAS indeed looking for something to use Sochie for... I guess I'd have to boost her Awakened-stat somewhat to take full advantage, but still, that certainly could be quite the trip. Mind, I'm hardly in the post-game, but on the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the parts are awarded at random. It might be the last silver-part I get, or the very next one - who can say? Either way, most battles seem to happen in space, so there's no reason I couldn't use her already, as long as we're sticking to the big black.

The parts are not random. There is a preset unlock order, you can do the silver parts modifications quests in any order and get the exact same parts in the exact same order

I see! I'd seen others claim that it was random, but that actually fits my observations a lot better. Mind, I COULD still get the part I need randomly from a dispatch-mission, just without the ability to manufacture more of them at will...

I would argue against that with a small technicality, as MA/Flight/Bird modes - aka MS with variable transformation into a fighter mode - apparently count as Fighter Jet-type units for the purposes of Group Dispatch and the Combat Operator ability when transformed into those variable fighter modes. To this end, while I'm not sure if it's the strongest, one of my favourite MS in this game to use is the Gundam Harute Final Battle Type, which while not the strongest of Celestial Being circa A.D.2314 is extremely versatile overall. Having a Trans-Am to bypass barriers is always a nice thing to have, too - even if the raw range is your preference, you ain't getting past that Nanolaminate Coat's damage reduction even with the Twin Buster Rifle.

I believe those two modifications only work by making their Space terrain capability match their Atmospheric capability, and vice versa. In other words, they need the capability to function on their own in one terrain type, or the other, or those parts straight-up do not work.

Which means you'll still need an SFS if you want to take the Superbia GN-X into space. And you still can't take the Trilobite into space.

Super Soldier is available as a learnable skill? Handy! Can you tell me where I might find it? I assume somewhere in the 00 continuity, but there's quite a few of those...

You need to beat the game first, but if you're intent on using a fighter unit until the end and you plan to use Harute for that: Super Soldier Drops from Soma Peries in the main 00 series on HELL Difficulty, which is unlocked after beating the game. (I'm assuming you are at least on your way a bit towards that already) Anyhow, it's just a tip for later.

While not the strongest out there, I personally would recommend the Arios Gundam Ascalon. It's got quite a few unique traits about it, mixing in the weapons of Virtue, Dynames and Exia all in one in Flight Mode, the GN Sword of which is pretty good for when you need to get in up close.

Just a warning ahead of time: A lot of characters in that difficulty will drop one of two abilities, and which one you get is determined when you begin the stage. You have to give up or complete the stage for another roll, and you won't be able to tell which one was gotten until you defeat the Ability Holder in question. I've generally gotten pretty lucky with a lot of these abilities, but others aren't quite so lucky. Be prepared for the long haul if you're gonna chase things such as Gundam Meister or Alaya-Vijnana Type-E.

A'right, I've managed to obtain most of the units recommended in this thread by now - still working on a couple of the IBO models, but getting close. Now - for everyone who've put in their 2 cents: What does your ultimate dispatch unit look like? Ship, Master-slot (preferably an XL or larger, since it always seems like such a waste to leave a regular suit there), and 8 suits. What's the MOST firepower you can pack into a single battleship?

(Preferably no secret post-endgame units... they just sound a touch pointless, since by the time you can get them, you're done with the game anyway.)
