Iron Blooded Orphans Gundam Flauros is amazing for its stupidly long range Dainsleif that can be setup to 1 shot just about any mobile suit in the game... from up to 11 squares away, even its other weapons can get their range and power increased pretty easily. Just toss the suit onto an SFS to cart it around, throw Weapon Container 3 on it, and throw a Physical Handling 3 on the pilot along with Physical and Ranged knowledge. Most units will opt to try to evade its attacks, as even the machine guns hit like Dainsleif shots and will have a 2-6 range. The thing one shots gundams and pinpoint one shots warships alike.
Strike Freedom is immensely versatile. Barbatos Lupus Rex is a melee monster with high base power to work off of. The 00Quan[T] Full Saber is another melee monster that is virtually untouchable and takes a lot to take out its energy.
Strike Freedom has his abusable MAP attack.
The Reginlaze Julia can hit pretty hard surprisingly.
Barbatos Lupus Rex is just ridiculous at Super High Tension.
Any of the Qan (T)'s are broken.
Heavyarms Custom EW is great at wrecking the IBO stages now that it has a 1-2 ranged attack.
Destiny is a great all around gonna smash your face in type of unit.
Currently I have an Exia and Astraea Type-F2, both mid-tier units, that have end game stats (300+ in every catagory).
Seriously the haro and spycho version are really powerfull imo.
All the other that has been said, qant T , strike freedom , lupus rex... some other unit like the astray can be pretty powerfull with the right pilot ( for exemple Setsuna start with high morale if he is in a gundam type unit so you can start right away with some special attack).
But as has been said... most Gundams can facemelt once these and their pilots are leveled and trained beyond a certain point. Modifications like Limiter Off also help out.
The Lupus Rex has fantastic range TBH, courtesy of the tail weapon (awaken, so easy to get 9+ range with). Any MS will be ridiculously strong if you level it up, but FWIW the ones with good base stats and special awaken weapons are the easiest to reach one-shot status with w/o strong pilots or skills, e.g., Strike Freedom and Legend.
Either way, a SFS can largely rectify any range limitations. Still, for overall versatility, there are better units. It’s inevitably a moot point once you hit a certain threshold in leveling.
For the ultimate tank, you cannot go wrong with the Dreadnaught H after upgrading it's EN and armor to within 300, then add parts to raise those stats more, or add beam/physical resistance to be completely invisible.
