Each main series has at least one gimmick that will stop novice players, so I think you shouldn't play them from beginning to end, at least in the beginning. If you can, try to finish the side stories (G-Unit, Stargazer, Seed Astray etc) to get at least a few levels and good suits first, so you don't get caught in an unwinnable situation.

WING: Planet Defensors, enough said.
SEED: some stages in the middle of the story have water. Also, most of the end stages are "survive for X turns while 100 enemies swarm you (not kidding)". The stage where the Cyclops System fires will probably be the first Game Over for many people, because you need to move the Archangel towards the goal even before the goal itself appears.
Gundam 00: 900 enemies at once, every stage.
IBO: everyone blocks beams. RIP Tornado Gundam.

Most of the side stories don't have that many reinforcements. G-Unit and Seed Astray can be cleared mostly with your Guest units.
Playing through the wing stages, i went in going on the assumption that it was possible to beat the stages with only the gundams already there.

For the most part. That’s certainly true of the early stages. Once you get near the end of the scenario, having your own squad to supplement becomes essential. This is especially true if you want to complete the special conditions.

The Sanc Kingdom stage in the Wing campaign was a nightmare. I went in with only one battleship squad and it was the first stage I had to retry. Barely cleared it with the default units and one battleship squad on the Carry Base.

If you want some busted units, complete 00 Trailblazer.
They can do beam, awaken, physical, regen energy and have a brutal passive.
Bonus points for using innovator/gundam meister pilots :D
The Qan[T] ELS starts with 400 in every stat, and the matching ELS Setsuna has atleast 300 in almost every stat at level 1 XD
