Likes:
-The ease at which you can add custom BGM.
-That Mikazuki Augus first line is "What do you want me to do now, Orga?"
-That is is on Steam in English
Dislikes
- It is AU and therefore is going to make me experience Seed.
- They are still using some tracks they have been using since PS2. SRW has some great instrumental remixes of its series tracks while SD Gundam still sounds like it is using midirock.
-That custom character portraits are vary lacking. Half of them are just the first half with heavy shadow in the faces.
- MS begin on their SFS. This is a godsend, as one of the most annoying parts of Genesis was deploying 16 mobile suits, then deploying 16 SFS.
- New configuration options. I was hoping for an option to speed up HP/EN gain at that start of each turn, and I got it.
- The option to choose which abilities characters have. I wish I could have put +1 melee range on Code Phoenix in Genesis.
- The UI is noticeably smoother than Genesis was on PS4.
- Skills are no longer single-use. You can spam the same skill 9 times if you want.
Dislikes:
- Mobile suits stats don't increase upon level up except for the points you get to distribute.
- Ships don't have a "Disperse" equivalent, or if they do, it's a MAP attack.
- I appreciate the Mouse/Keyboard support, but they still correspond to controller buttons, so it isn't a true M&KB scheme. You also can't remap all of the controller buttons.
Undecided:
- Using capital for literally everything.
- Away missions (or whatever they're called)
- Unit strength seems to be normalized across the series. I figured the MS from 00 and Seed would be vastly superior to the ones in Wing and IBO, but maybe they are meant to be about the same.
The other one are Raid groups. Yes it's useful for short-term engagements but for stages with very extended fights, their usefulness drops as you have to manage their EN a lot. Later on this would probably be easier to manage when you have credits to buy MP tanks or if there are optional parts to increase HP/MP regen per turn but at the moment, the Raid group is very tedious to manage. Probably why all my units in the Raid group are 00 units at the moment...
I see a couple mentions about level ups increasing all MS stats. Is this a Genesis thing? The need to allocate points yourself has been a thing for a long time now. If anything I find the all stat increase per level odd if anything. There's an option for auto allocation which would balance out the points distribution if you want.
I honestly think you just need the right suit. I'm using the strike freedom and it regens 40% of it's energy every turn when in a warship group, enough that the only times I run out of power are if I drop it in the middle of an enemy squad and counter 9 units or more at once.
In Genesis, MS/MA and WS would get a small bump in all stats upon leveling up, in addition to the points that you get to distribute. Eventually, they would start to add up, so a leveled up suit would be better in all areas than a lvl 1 version. Compared to Genesis, it seems our MS are going to be weaker, but maybe the level caps are higher?
As for explosions, there are a few abilities that negate certain types of damage below a certain threshold and others that subtract a certain amount from each attack. I think the secondary explosion damage is there to boost the damage of cheaper attacks but with the possibility of it being negated. I was hoping it would do splash damage to adjacent units, or maybe do the explosion damage even if the attack missed, but I don't think it does.
All stats cap at 999. I don't know if there's a level limit currently, I assume it to be, but I don't think I'll ever hit that cap personally.
