Developing Gundam
I noticed the gundam development only requires level. Are there any benefit of maxing a gundam level before development or upgrading stats? Or should I just develop every chance I have to get better mobile suits?

No use to leveling further at all, get to the level you need to develop the suit you want and go, no benefits for overleveling.

do not Overlook non mobile suit units they can upgrade to specific paths that lead to more interesting mobile suits or vehicles I believe new battleships can even be found that way

So, something still bugs me.

I have two Phoenix Zeros. One at lvl 4 and the other at lvl 5. The lvl 4 Phoenix can only go to a Phoenix Zero One while the rest of the options are locked because they are level 5. My level 5 Phoenix has all the options available.

If you develop a gundam, then it reverts to lvl 1 and you have to level it all over again to develop again. Wouldn't it just be smarter to level the base gundam all the way? This keeps you from having to reset the level.

Not really, because of stat gains, even at level 99 your base form Mobile Suit will just lag behind in terms of stats to other higher tier Mobile Suits, plus higher tier suits have stronger attacks and better abilities, so unless you want to purposefully gimp yourself or REALLY like a lower tier Suit, don't do it.

there are 2 reasons for this:

1) You unlock new units, which then gets added to the shop list, so you can buy them whenever you want (and have sufficient credits);

2) Generally speaking, an evolution is a direct upgrade than the previous one, for example phoenix zero to phoenix zero one, but keep in mind that many mecha can "downgrade" to a previous form or a different branch altogether.

The most important part is first to find the mecha you are looking for, and then focus on leveling it.

Wish there was a development tree guide, but that's wishful thinking since the game just came out. I'll just go in blind and hopefully I end up with MSs that I want lol

That's coming, though the JPN Wiki is still in the works.

I usually always liked to discover mecha though evolution, but I can understand why some people find it tedious. XD

Usually the development line is pretty basic and makes sense if you're familiar with mobile suits background for each series.

It only gets confusing at the beginning because the G Gen exclusive units evolve into other series MS.

It is annoying when you are unlocking the grunt type units and you noticed that they are actually a bunch of the very same unit from various factions in the story and they still requires you to level it to level 4 just for a color change.

Pretty much.

Usually if you aren't in a hurry on unlocking all units, you should better directly evolve to the more advanced form rather than its "reskin" counterpart.

As for now what I hate is being unable to get the EXP booster modifiers, leveling up units for now is a very slow process.

One way to figure out what evolves into what is go to

https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/The_Gundam_Wiki

Look up the MS you want, and it should tell you what it's derived from, then keep going into you figure out the base model.

For example, if you want the 1.5 Gundam, you'll see it's derived from both 1 Gundam and Alvaaron. If you click on 1 Gundam, you'll see it's based off the 0 Gundam, so level up the 0 Gundam, follow the path, and you should get it.
