How's the customization?

I'm not used to the Strategy Gundam series, but I heard it's very similar to Super Robot Wars, that true?

The gameplay and grid-style maps are somewhat similar, but SD Gundam focuses much more on customization and progression. You can truly build your dream team and use any mobile suit you want.

Customization is being able to switch out pilots and suits and music. it isn't to in depth.

There isn’t any customization in the sense that you can change the color scheme of a mobile suit or switch out its weapons.

However, with over 650 units to choose from and every character you could imagine being in the game, you can create whatever crazy combination of squads that you want.

You can also tweak the stats of your units as they level and use parts to upgrade and specialize them in numerous ways. You can also evolve your mobile suit into an entirely different one, combine mobile suits to unlock new ones, or trade in your mobile suit for another of similar rank.

There is a lot of player choice when it comes to determining how you play the game.

Yes, you can. Called "My Character", you can make a character by picking a portrait from a set selection and choosing a voice bank for them, which also determines their personality. You can then use them as pilots, warship staff, whatever.

There's a good deal of customization in that you are free to use any Mobile Suit you can build, and any pilot you've scouted/unlocked; rather than being limited to only the main protagonists or main villains.

If you're not cramming every non-combatant character in an overpowered Mobile Suit, you're playing this game wrong.

Relena Peacecraft will bring about Absolute Pacifism by vaporizing every belligerent with a twin buster rifle, damn it.

It just hit me that i can have a team with Relena, Kudelia, Lacus, Marina under the command of Kati to make the ultimate pacifist annihilation squad of destruction, for love and justice. in the name of the moon, they will push you with a mace, twin buster rifle, beam boomerang, riser sword, all guided by tactical forecasting of there leader. LOL

Not passing enough fist-isms with that setup.

Just slap Relena in the Dominion and play her as Anti-Murrue/Lacus. Slap Zechs in the Legend and Heero in the Strike Freedom with her for ultimate confusion tactics.
