Are every Mobile Suit Viable?
Like if I level up the operator and the suit enough can I beat every story fine with say a zaku?

Basically, but you would have to sinke quite a bit of time and resources into the thing.

Compared to Genesis?

Yes, though some suits are still overall better due to passive abilities or strong attacks like Barbatos Lupus Rex and ELS Quanta.

Strangely the Zaku isn't even a good example here because they're kinda the tail-end of certain upgrade trees. (And so have some solid base stats.) Probably the 'grunt' suits of this game would be most of the GINN line.

You can beat the game with any unit, provided you level it enough. Now, would I personally want to beat the game on Hell difficulty with nothing but skygraspers? Not at all. Doesn't mean it isn't possible though.

I've been trying to see if i can make a copter unit vaiable.

You can eventually make every MS viable if you level it enough. High tier MS suffer from diminishing returns where eventually they'll require 3x bars, 4x bars, etc to level a stat once.

If we're talking base stats, then ya, there's a limit of what low tier MS can do because there's a massive stat difference in Hard, Extra and Hell.

However, there are equipment that can boost the stats of the MS and bring it up a tier or two.

you could "technically" by using the *enhance* option you could level up to a certain point, but since the base numbers are low, there is a limit of what you can reach.(maybe if you level up a couple hundred a copter or tank could become viable?), definitely better if it was an MS at least....

they are all viable... i theory.

if you compare the baseline Strike Dagger with a Windam (for some reason, i havn't unlocked the zaku)

Strike Dagger vs Windam
HP 9400 vs 11800 (42 points)
EN 80 vs 110 (40 points)
ATK 145 vs 200 (110 points)
DEF 130 vs 190 (120 points)
MOB 155 vs 220 ( 130 points)

overall, you would "lose" 442 upgrade points by using a lower tier unit.
asuming you are leveling everything above the 4 point breakpoint, you would lose ~110 stats overall.
on a lvl 99 unit, that wouldn't make the unit useless, but it will always miss those stats compared to a wingdam (and there are more powerfull 'mass produce' MS out there)

Some units are just straight-up useless and should never be bought, or developed into.

Especially the Trilobite. An XXL unit that can only be deployed on water maps, which are the rarest map type in the game, that doesn't even have particularly great stats? That's a huge nope from me

if someone really wanted to use a trilobite or any other marine only suit they can just give it parts that let it be used elsewhere
Lapetirubern Dec 11, 2019 @ 1:50am
No, they can't. There's one lategame part that allows space-only units (people probably will use it on battleships they like) to be used in the atmosphere, and one that allows air-only units to be used in space. But those parts specifically set the terrain ranking for one to what the unit has in the other. The Trilobite only has terrain rankings for water, so those parts do nothing for it. I don't think I've even seen any other water-only unit yet, but in theory, if a water-only unit's a MS instead of a MA (the Trilobite's a MA) it might be SFS-compatible

you can beat the game with anything as long as you grind enough

I'm in the process of making a Leo into a murder machine.

Is every Mobile Suit Viable? Yes, with enough time and EXP poured in, the right Option parts help too, but it does not matter how much you try to make them great: Lower tier suits will ALWAYS lag behind on the higher tier ones when all is said and done. (That is why i recommend going for the best and highest Tier stuff unless you have a low tier unit you like a lot, which luckily for me: The suits I like are just about ALL High tier suits)

Yeah the actual ZAKU models are about on par with low-end Gundams to start off.

So it doesn't take too much investment to pump them up to match better Gundams.

As others have said, any Suit is viable, but the weaker they are to start, the more time investment it'll take. Some are better simply because of their natural suit abilities/upgrades.

I find Pilot Stats almost matter more than Gundam Stats as well. Pumping up ATK on a Gundam doesn't seem to do as much as getting more Ranged/Melee on the pilot. Same for Reaction and Defense.
