I tried uninstalling and re-install Skyrim, unchecking the DLCs, the remove and refresh Steam files trick, checking my RAM/Memory, anti-malware scans, CCleaner scans, Windows Updates, Nvidia Updates & resetting default settings, et cetera but nothing works.
My guess is the problem is either the Steam update and/or a Skyrim update, either way I hope the Steam Team fixes and/or acknowledges this soon, because I was finally starting to play Skyrim again; but the constant random computer crashes have stopped me from trying until Steam fixing this.
Sophie, please do let us know if the Steam Team ever replies to you, because I need help with this problem as well. ;)
It is the weekend, many companies seem less likely to respond Friday - Sunday, let us hope they respond on Monday. ;)
48 hrs is just an average time.
The 12th, wow, interesting; hopefully they will respond soon.
I subscribed to this discussion but I am not getting email alerts when there are new comments, is there a way to get email alerts of new comments?
i say ok and proceed to paypal. when installing i notice a new convert files thingamajig show up on screen and hope to higher powers that this doesnt screw up my err, stuff.
let me stay i have spent all afternoon trying to figure this out. secondly im sorry to all of you who are experiencing this same problem. and third i wish i was smarter to figure it out. please everyone who reads this and has an idea to post your comments, we need help.
i purchased both dlc content, when i go to dawnguard and try to open front door, i am crashing to desktop. when i tried to enter windstad manor house i built, i crashed to desktop. when i purchased child room furnishes for house in riften and tried to enter house, i crashed to desktop. upon opening an earlier save prior to purchase in riften, i can enter just fine, afterall, my wife is there. for the record i went to my house in whiterun ( i have every house but have not tested them all) and purchased the room addition no problem, only after removing all the mods for that house I had. the kids moved in and what a swell family. however after the bugs at windstad i removed that dlc from loading so i could look up a solution online. i have not found one as of yet.
what is more confusing is now dawnguard is acting up. did this somehow translate over from the other expansion?
i removed many mods, around 28 which honestly i didnt need. one mod that is important is misty top. its a house mod that i must keep. it took 8 hours of game play just to move all my gear into that house so i am not about to remove it. (yes, im a hoarder :( )
like i said, i only have the dawnguard dlc activated of the two i purchased and when i get to the front door of the keep, i click open and it crashes to desktop.
is anyone else getting this same scenario as me?
