Dawnguard: How to start making silver bolts?
I cannot find enough in Fort Dawnguard to sustain me and my crossbow needs.

That's wrong, silver bolts don't exist............

Only steel bolts and in that case use steel ingot and firewood.

1 Steel Ingot is obtained by smelting 1 Corundum Ore and 1 Iron Ore

You can buy steel ingots from blacksmiths, but they don't always have them (check their misc section). Firewood you have to chop at a wood block with a woodcutter's axe.

To make your own steel bolts, you will need to have the Steel Smithing perk from the Smithing skill tree. You will need to chop wood at a wood chopping block with a woodcutter's axe. Wood chopping blocks can be found in pretty much any city, they look like a tree stump surrounded by wood. (Two can be found in Whiterun, the one you can use is directly in front of the tavern (Bannered Mare) to the left of the main door). A woodcutter's axe can be obtained several places, the easiest way to get one is to steal one from Alvor and Sigurd's house in Riverwood (the first village you go to after the dragon attack) in their basement. If you followed Hadvar (the Imperial) instead of Ralof (the Stormcloak), you can take the axe without it being considered stealing.

To make a steel ingot, you will need a corundum ore and an iron ore and a smelter (found at the blacksmith's shop (Warmaiden's) in Whiterun). You can try to purchase them from blacksmiths and general stores, but it's often easier to just mine them yourself with a pickaxe.

Sounds like a Silver Bolt mod is in order...

I was hoping the Lunar Forge could serve a purpose for the Dawnguard expansion. The silver weapons from the Silver Hand aren't strong enough, even with enchantments.
