Speak with gunmar for an assignment glitch

Can't start this quest there is no option to ask for more work. The only options I get are: Can you train me in Smithing?, What have you got for sale?, and I'd like to buy an armored troll.

Gunmar may not give the Dragonborn any quests even if other Dawnguard members say he has something for the player.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I have the same issue, it litterly doesnt tell you WHAT quest your going to get, it simply says "Speak with gunmar for an assignment"

It's not an issue ...my mistake .
Just check your journal, there is a quest for gunmar .

i have the same problem the journal SAYS that you need to speek to gunnmar for a quest not what the quest is.

OHHHHHHHHH NVM, i already got a quest from gunnmar and i did not finish it thats ehy the option is not showing up its because i already have a quest, check ur journal and if u dont have the quest from gunnmar then it is a glitch and i dont know how to help.

for me, gunmar doesnt have a dialogue option for this assignment.
