Small Issue with Enthir in 'Hard Answers'.

After completing the Thieves Guils quest 'Hard Answers' I'm to return to Enthir who appears to be at The Frozen Hearth in Winterhold, only, he isn't there. I've looked everywhere but can't find him. When I'm at The Frozen Hearth I can only find Nelacar who's stuck in a previous quest mode that I'm supposed to talk to him, but he's got nothing to say to me. I wonder if this is messing the 'Hard Answers' quest up somehow. If so, what to do about it?

I've tried the Moteto <Enthir's refID> console command, but it didn't move me anywhere, so I have to assume he somehow doesn't exist in the game presently.

Any ideas how I can solve this?

if you have the refID try this:

prid <refID>
moveto player

enter it exactly like this and it should return Enthir to you position.

Works for me when i've lost my follower or they refuse to progress through areas with me.

I just tried this, but I got the 'Script not saved' response. It usually means I've done something wrong in how I wrote the script, but I wrote it exactly the way you've written it here.

This makes me think it probably has something to do with the Nelacar character's presence where I think Enthir may have been meant to be, even though Enthir was at the college the previous times I've spoken to him. He's not there anymore, though.

Ahem, this is somewhat embarrassing. I just made another search on the issue of the disappeared Enthir, and I found a page where it said: "Return to Enthir and Karliah in The Frozen Hearth cellar".

As it turns out I never went to the cellar at The Frozen Hearth because I didn't know there is a cellar. I can usually recognize scenes I've experienced in a previous game, but weird as it sounds I still have no recollection whatsoever of the scene in the basement of The Frozen Hearth. It's as if I've never been there before. Oh well.

Thanks for helping out, if you hadn't given me another idea to try out I might not have found out and just have assumed the game was broken.

I have solved the issue by going back to Riverwood and give it one more shot. I think I may have spoken to Alvor the first time I was there, because this time there was no trouble getting to buy lumber from Hod.
