Whats the Purpose of Character Creation?
What I mean is what is the point in picking a race or "ethnic background" for the character if none of that is even recognized in the game? Some characters look like animals but it seems to not make a difference to anyone in the game. Is this a Star Wars civilization or something..well even in Star Wars people disliked droids!

We're all entitled to our opinions. Oh and BTW I NEVER had ANY problems with leveling up in MW, and while using a skill that wasn't one of your Major (or minor) skills didn't help you MUCH; EVERY use of ANY skill did contibute a little towards leveling.

Except no, it doesn't.[www.uesp.net]

Each class has five Major skills, five Minor skills, and seventeen miscellaneous skills. Each time your character increases any combination of Major or Minor skills ten times, they become eligible to gain a level. [...] Miscellaneous skills do not count toward this progress at all.

In Morrowind and Oblivion, only Major and Minor skills will effect level progress. It wasn't until Skyrim that they decided to hell with the class system, and allowed every skill to give you level progress. So your last line is true...but not about the game you're talking about.

Same with me. I knew what I wanted to make months before I got the game itself.

also those mods i was talking about are for me, but i might make versions of them that make some parts avalible to others, say it may allow you to go to the place my character is from.

Took me a minute to figure out what you meant in that post and all I can say is...huh? How do you make your character's history..."real" in-game? Do you mean adding additional lines to NPCs or adding news areas or...seriously, what are you talking about?
i will make a mod that adds a new NPC, this one knew my character, also a mod that adds the place he is from to the game, and several other things like this.
edit: also a rumor about the an old fortress, this fortress is where he grew lived.
edit no2: these are for me, in the version that i am thinking about making useable by others you would not be recognized by the NPC/NPCs that knew my character.

Well said, sir! In Skyrim, there -is- no point, because no matter what kind of character you play as, no gameplay opportunities are blocked off or opened up as a result of that.

This is a recent mistake in the TES series, though. Morrowind made the characters react differently to you based on your race/faction alignment.
