Kill or sneak past the bear?

In the tutorial did you originally kill the bear or sneak past it? I snuck past it and I feel like the only one who did so

since you are with an NPC who cannot die, I always killed the bear for the archery practice if nothng else. Also, you get a pelt and bear clews which help craftting skills once you reach Riverwood.

ofcourse you can sneak past the bear, but why?
killing is more fun than sneaking.
when you kill it you also have some leather you can use to make some armor when you are in a city or village.

I killed the bear since I tend to sneak everywhere but inside towns anyway. I like playing an archer who picks my enemies off at a distance or in a surprise attack from behind with a blade or magic.

Snuck back and forth to get my sneak rating up, turned around then killed the bear.

Snuck past, returned at lvl49, poisoned the bear with pickpocket 100, after that I went back to Blue Palace and shared a laugh with Jarl Elisif over expensive black briar reserve

Snuck past, then went back and killed it.

I sneak past it, then sneak past it again until my sneak is leveled up a good bit then I go and get the bear to attack me but I level up my block with a sheild. Then I kill the bear. :)
