Serana thinks I have someone else following me, but i dont...How to get her to follow me again??
So during the part of the dawnguard quest (i chose the Dawnguard's side) where you have to enter ancestor glade to do the thing with the trees and the moths, right before that, i told Serana to part ways because i had some side questing to do. She said she'd meet me at the glade, and I remembered that. So i finished everything, and i traveled up to the glade to meet her there. As expected, she was standing outside the entire time in the freezing cold snow waiting for my return. I then asked her to "Come with me." he replied by saying "Three's a crowd. Come back when you're alone." I thought it was strange, because i had the ULO (ultimate follower overhaul) mod installed, so i should be able to have as mny followers at once as I wish, but i presumed that the overhaul does not effect Serana, for whatever reason. I dismissed my other followers, and then I asked her again to "Come with me." She then replied with "I don't wanna step on any toes. come back when it's just the two of us." I tried again and again and she kept saying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like that, as if I had another follower. i even used aura whisper to look around and see if anyone else was following me, and all i saw was me, and my horse, and serana. I would suspect that i still have a follower but I have told it to 'wait here' and forgot about it, but that is not the case, since i almost never use the 'wait here' command, and i have only ever had 2 followers on that character: Kodelia (follower/wife from a mod) and Serana. If anyone could shoot me some possibilities, that would be fantastic. Perhaps there are console commands to get around such an issue?

I'm having the same problem. I have spent the last couple of days tracking down anyone that may ever have been a follower and dismissing them, including Leifer the dog. Still, Serena refuses to have anything to do with me, complaining that three's a crowd. Is there a console command that will list current followers, or one that dismisses all followers?

OK I found a solution that works. Enter this console command. set playerfollowercount to 0

before using any console commands try verify integrity of game cache. Exit your game, go to your list of games and right click on Skyrim, scroll down to properties-click on it,then click on local files, then click on verify integrity of game cache- takes afew moments to do it's thing, changes are it will say '' failed to something, something- do not worry about it as it says the same thing to everyone who verify integrity of game cache- go play your game and see if the problem is gone , if not use the console command.

Thanks for helping out Trigger. I'm kind of a noob and appreciate help anywhere I can find it. I'm curious; did I screw anything up or cause a problem by using the console? I went ahead and followed your instructions a few minutes ago just to see what happened. After it scanned the game, it displayed a message that one of the files failed to validate properly and would be reacquired.

How would this have possibly solved the problem, and what other kinds of problems would this solve? Thnaks for your time and attention.
