infinite ammo WITHOUT using tgm?
does anyone know of a way to not use up ammunition when using a bow or crossbow, or to have an infinite supply of arrows, crossbowbolts, etc WITHOUT using god mode? i really enjoy not having to worry about running out of ammunition but everything else about godmode kinda kills the fun. if anyone knows of a mod or console command for that i'd really appreciate it if you let me know.

hit the ~ key which is shift + `. This is usually near the uper left side of keyboard. To the left of the 1 key.

Then type in player.additem xxxxxx yyy
(where xxxxx is the number code under the ammo you want and yyy is the quantity.

Here are some I have in my ammo bat file. If you want to create a bat file just paste these or any other code in a txt file. Place that txt file in the main skyrim folder. This is the folder with skyrimlauncher.exe in it. In game all you have to do is type bat (filename) after bringing up the console. Console is the ~ key above.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you drop an item on the ground, and click on it while in console command, doesn't it show you what the item ID is? I know it shows some kind of ID, but idk what it represents.

@neonic You need the ammo code from the author or you are stuck with tgm. You could try "help (name of ammo) to get the console code. Sometimes it is there sometimes not depending on how it was created in ckit.

@Nip that is the code for the item. Just realized that is the best way for Neonic to find the code. Ty for that.

Yeah, this will work. Drop a piece of ammo, open console, click on ammo, record item number, use console code to give yourself a bajillion of the ammo.

Player.AddItem XXXXXXXX YY
X = item code
Y = amount you want

Other options that don't require cheating include:

Using your Bound Bow spell.
Getting a mod that allows you to craft arrows.
Being smart and conserving your best arrows.

This is easy for me since I ignore encumberance. I carry about 500 of the best arrows I can craft, about 300 or so of the next best and a bunch of garbage arrows for hunting bunnies and hawks, distracting monsters, triggering traps, etc.

You don't need a mod to craft arrows, you can just get the Dawnguard DLC, that adds smithing recipes for arrows AFAIK.

He's not using arrows, he's using custom ammo for a dwarven gun.

I know its a little late, but if you are using custom ammo you can find the item code by typing help "x" where x is the item name

Sry guys but why do u need infinite ammunition? If u r high enough in bow/crossbow and in stealth u can 1shot kill allmost anything except dragons and draughir deadlords. Im personaly using better dwemer crossbow and steel bolts on it (exploding dwemer lightning bolts only on dragons) and auriel with sun arrows on undead. OFC i have ebonite dagger as backup but im using it quite rarely, coz not many thing gets close to me and if... i have shouts and thats it :D

To anyone still having trouble use this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64171/?
It works with any ammunition, modded or not, bolts, everything
