Good candidates for the Blades?
I'm starting the recruitment of Blades followers in the main storyline and I've already recruited Belrand and Kharjo. I'm looking for that last candidate to fill the last slot. Any suggestions who?

J'zargo might be good to have a mage in your squad of Blades. Plus, it gives him some good default armor for whenever you decide to take him as a follower. He also levels all the way to around 81 or 82, which is far higher than just about any other follower.

J'zargo is a good start. i would definently recomend either mage followers or followers that have specializations in heavy armor. (Ex: Eric the Slayer, Mjoll the Lioness, Uthgerd the Unbroken.) Mage's tend to do more dammage in ranged combat rather than archer's and warriors are better than mage's when you have the dragonrend shout but in the end its up to you. i would personally cxhoose mage's cause they can heal themselve's. warriors tend to just get in the way and mages tend to get out of the way alot so thats my opinion. not to mention mage's can summon or raise dead companions and they have better ranged dammage rather than archer's.

Any follower that you never take anywhere, or a sellsword you hire from taverns if you like your housecarls/followers. I'd go for the sellsword either from Candlehearth Tavern or Silver-Blood Inn, or even the drunkard form Silver-Blood Inn. Basically, anyone you don't care about. That's the way I do it anyway. You can still recruit them as a follower but I use it as a dumping zone for followers I don't use. Similar with Boethia's Calling... muhahahaha. Gerthrud is a good'un too if you don't use her much.

That's usually what I do. I usually make Lydia and that blonde housecarl at Proudspire Manor Blades just to get them THE HELL OUTTA MY HOUSE! Breezehome is small enough with my wife and I, then I have to have Lydia hogging up space and mooching off my food while staring creepily at my wife and I sleeping together. No thanks. I have the city walls and guards to keep my home safe while I'm out adventuring.

But the OP seemed to be looking for the best Blade candidates in terms of performance. If you're looking at just vanilla, then J'zargo really is probably the best.

I have the Legendary Edition and the unofficial patches for each DLC (except the the High-Res one), if that helps.
I was thinking of more warrior-type characters, but okay, J'zargo it is.

How the hell did I spell that so badly? I meant 'Uthgerd'. She's a hardy warrior type like if you want someone who's also useful. And she looks good in a blade's outfit. Well this one anyway. Eye candy!

"What did you say my name was?"
Sorry, Uthgerd. Don't kill me!

Next chance I get, I plan to give Teldryn Sero a try.
