Any way to increase the number of random encounters?
I love skyrim but it kinda pisses me off on how I can run all the way from Whiterun to Solitude and only get attacked a couple times by wolves and a troll. When I travel I want to get attacked by bandits or vampires atleast once a trip between Whiterun and Solitude or I want to see more guards escorting prisonors.

If anyone knows of a mod that does this please share.

I use a mod called Skyrim Immersive Creatures that adds new creatures that can spawn and allows you to set spawn chances and the rate and which cells respawn. Tweak it to your heart's content.

I also use Immersive Patrols that can spawn some hostile encounters.

There are other such mods out there but those are the two I am currently using and they don't conflict.

I like Deadly Dragons but would not recommend that you use the mod with a young character or a character focused on melee.

This bandit mod looks interesting but I've never tried it.

Another bandit mod. Haven't tried it either.

my erso's unlevelled world mod must fix this problem, I run into stuff all the time. might be too many vampire lords in whiterun when i fast travel at night, but that could be dawnguard stuff. i'll never know for sure.

Wow what game are you playing. If i ride a horse anywhere, every ten feet i have to get off and kill something.Keep the main quests for Skyrim and the DLC's going so you have vampires and dragons and cultists attacking you all the time as well as everything else.Mods like more monsters or legendery monsters ect.

i worked up a decent mix using mostly "NPC encounter" mods, i generally shy away from the "creature" mods. Here is my list, and yes, the load order is important!

>> Immediate Dragons

>> Tekuromoto's Less predictable respawn [set this to 12/36 hours]

>> SOT - Sleeping Encounters

>> Enhanced High Lvl Gameplay

>> Populated Dungeons/Caves/Ruins

>> Populated Forts/Towers/Places [Lite]

>> Cults of Skyrim

>> OBIS

>> Creepy Zombies

>> ERSO 02 - EFMS

>> ERSO 09.2 - Radiance

>> ERSO 10.04 - Immersive Brigands

>> ERSO 11 - Assassins and Thieves

>> Immersive Dawnguard

>> Extra Encounters [CSP]

>> Extended Encounters

>> DFB - Random Encounters [set to 300 seconds/10% chance for spawn/5% for multiple groups]

i have had to drop the values quite a bit for DFB when using it with all these other encounter mods, or else the game with CTD.

Happy hunting

One bug that I have recently encountered, and may be relevant to this issue, is that over time the game world had an increasing number of "Afflicted Refugees" (random non-hostile NPCs that direct the player to a daedric quest), but few random enemies. According to the UESP wiki, these NPCs may continuosly respawn due to a bug, and replace other random encounters that could otherwise occur at the same place.
