Unknown Mod Gives Bosmer "Consume" Option
My first character, a Bosmer, is capable of either looting a corpse, or chopping the body up to get four pieces of Human Flesh and a Human Heart, which is very useful for alchemists and assassins looking for Brotherhood Bandoliers. I figured this was from IMP's Complex Needs.

Then I made a new character, and learned my Argonian can't "consume" human bodies for some reason. Perhaps I had uninstalled the mod that gave me that option and I hadn't realized it. Couldn't have been Complex Needs like I thought.

THEN I finally go back to my Bosmer, and I can once again consume. I've attributed this to be a lore-friendly reference to Bosmer and cannibalism, and simply ignored it. However, now when I try to search the body, I get a CTD.

What mod is enabling me to consume bodies? I can't figure it out in my vast list of them all, despite it being a part of my game since I had only a few. It's causing problems, and I need to know so I can adjust my load order or just remove it.

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cannibalism

Cannibalism is featured in Skyrim, as the Dragonborn has the option to join a group of cannibals by eating someone in the Daedric quest The Taste of Death.[1] To start, talk to Eola inside the Halls of the Dead in Markarth. Upon completing the quest, Namira awards the Ring of Namira which allows eating the flesh of humanoids to regain health and stamina. However when near guards they might comment on how bad your breath is (This will only happen while you wear the Ring of Namira.) If you encounter any of the cannibals after the quest then there is a new dialogue option which asks:

Didn't I see you at the "feast"?

My Bosmer was given the option immediately. I don't have that ring. And I get items from the Consume option that are otherwise really difficult to come across.

You need to post your mod list so people can see it - it will make it easier to figure out instead of people randomly posting names of cannibalism mods until they match yours.

I haven't installed any mod that is explicitly a "cannibalism" mod. It'd have to be a mod that adds the functionality as a side option. I can post the mod list, but it's fairly large at this point. Of course, my problem with looting is related to poor testing, of course, and I'm being punished for that.

I'll go through the process of checking if the cannibalism is exclusive to Bosmer, or if my Argonian can't do it because of some glitch with the script or something.

Go ahead and post it - someone might be able to identify the problem.

Wow, 8 screenshots. Yikes. That's the lot of them. Note I don't have some checked, and the list is in chronological load order.

I ran into the same thing and this was the first link that popped up when i googled. I have found the mod that gives bosmer players the consume option. The mod is "Imps more complex needs". You can disable this feature by going to the in game mcm menu then going into more complex needs, then under character there is a cannibalism option that can disable the feature. I know this post is old but if anyone runs into the same issue this is what helped for me.

Haha I just found the same thing. It has to be Imp's Complex Needs; I don't have any other gameplay mods installed. I'm pretty sure it's not a vanilla feature, right?

I know this is really old post, but im still going to say it just in case someone hasnt figured out yet. I havent played with that mod, but it does make sense, because Bosmer part of Bosmer religion is the Greenpact, which forces Bosmer to eat all enemies they killed, including other elves. This is because it also prohibits eating and harming plants of Valenwood (home of the Wood Elves) so leaving corpses untouched would be waste of food.
