Assassin with Bound Weapons Build?
I like the assassin play style, and I think the bound weapons are awesome, so why not combine them into one? So does anyone have a build that would fit these two?

wouldn't casting a spell make you easier to notice?

Would casting a bounded bow/sword beforehand work?

Or would just a pure assassin with bow/dagger work? Since bounded weapons can't be enchanted, would their end game viablity be lowered?

As long as you sneak attack, I imagine you could get away with using bound weapons for a fair amount of time. Also, theres an Illusion perk to make all your spells silent I believe. Besides, you'd get to use Invisibility that way too, which is handy for when things go south.

Yeah , the char im playing right now is one of those , lvl 75 atm , you will need to rush dragonborn , cause you need that bound dagger (or use console anyway).

You can take the silent spell from the ilu scholl , the enemies wont notice you casting anymore.

The TRUE problem you will face is the damage cap , i play the game in legendary , 0,25% damage dealt , and i have some ... hardcore mods that add tons of nasty high level kinds of monsters/NPCs to the game.

That means the bound weapons at a higher level dont deliver enough damage anymore, and i was forced to change them to even be able to backstab medium (and sometimes even weaker) enemies.

As said, you'll want bound daggers, which will allow you to take advantage of the additional damage from sneak attacks with daggers. With that, the inability to upgrade your weapons is greatly reduced. Even with the bound sword you ought to be doing enough damage to one-shot just about anything if you backstab them, especially with the Shrouded Gloves.

You will also want the 'silent casting' perk from the Illusion tree. Illusion is a good school for sneaky assassin types anyway, casting frenzy from a distance and watching a whole room (save one) destroy themselves is hugely entertaining! :D:

I tried a build like this once and found it extremely frustrating and not nearly as awesome as it sounds. The biggest advantage is not having to carry weapons and ammo around, the biggest disadvantage... hard to say there are quite a lot.

A bound bow with all archery perks with a skill of 100 and the mystic binding perk will do more damage per second than a Deadric bow smithed up to about 500dmg. Why? Because the bound bow has a much faster refire rate and its ammuition is always deadric arrows. This assumes of course that you can hit what you're aiming at.

The deadric bow is better if you are a one shot one kill sniper type who shoots then switches weapons and closes in because that one shot will do more one-shot damage.

A lot of people don't know that you can hotkey favorites by first favoriting an item, then open the favorites list, then hovering your mouse over the item, then clicking a number key. This makes it much easier to switch weapons on the fly. Works with potions and scrolls too.

Good point. I think I'm going to go full daederic bow/dagger build. Is there a certain quest line order I should follow?

You can use poisons on bound weapons so you'll want to develop alchemy. And develop illusion at least until you get the quiet casting perk.

The problem with bound weapons is they don't improve in damage like regular weapons do - none of the spells do.

The Bound Bow is an exceptionally desirable weapon in the early stages of the game - unmodified through perks, it is of Daedric power.

With Patch 1.9 the Bound Bow with Mystic Binding garners more XP per hit than any other bow in the game.

Something to think about if you're making a new shooter char
