Can't use Enchantment table, Workbench, or tanner. PLEASE Help.

So I'm playing my game, been going good, all the way to level 25 with no problems, and then, all of a sudden, I can't use work tables of any kind. No enchanter, no workbench, no grindstone, to tanning rack. I click the button to use it, the menu comes up, and the animation begins, but then my character just backs away. I've tried with mods, I've tried without mods. I went back to another save, working fine. Go back to my own... still broken. I tried unninstalling and reinstalling: still have the same problem. I've tried verifying files, I've tried everything I can think of. Someone, please help me.

This command actually works if people are actually having this issue in 2018. Open console, click your character, then type "tai". It should work after pressing enter. Thanks @Power button

Type "player.tai" in the console. If it says "On" then your player ai got turned off, probably bugged During custom animations.

It fixed my game. Wasn't able to do anything that starts with an animation.

Dont know if anyone still having trouble but for me it was ordinator mod
i uninstalled ordinator.
loaded my save.
then quicksaved.
Exit skyrim
then reinstalled ordinator an fixed it

Holy crap thanks this worked! I just had to enter the following in the console:player.tai
Before I could not sit, use enchantment tables, or anything else. Thanks!

Prison time didn´t workd for me, but when i tried using a previous save file everything was just fine. So Shelt was correct on the active script theory

If you are in a game with a kid of the town it will do that like the hide and seek. Just wait until the end of the quest.

Ok its 2021, i have ordinator mod, been playing for 20 hours after the last time i was able to use workbench, horses, enchanting tables etc, tried the command, the shout, the jailtime, hide and seek and basically every solution i've read so far. What do i do ?

load an old save from when you could use the tables and see if it's a one off bug..... otherwise you will need to post your load order, preferably in it's own thread, and see if anyone can spot something.

This is going to sound stupid, but you may have an active script running. Try this: wait for an NPC to use a workstation, then click on the station and make them stop using it, then use it yourself.

Or Shout in town until a guard comes over to tell you to stop it. Then tell him to get stuffed. Try to use it.
