Can't use Enchantment table, Workbench, or tanner. PLEASE Help.

So I'm playing my game, been going good, all the way to level 25 with no problems, and then, all of a sudden, I can't use work tables of any kind. No enchanter, no workbench, no grindstone, to tanning rack. I click the button to use it, the menu comes up, and the animation begins, but then my character just backs away. I've tried with mods, I've tried without mods. I went back to another save, working fine. Go back to my own... still broken. I tried unninstalling and reinstalling: still have the same problem. I've tried verifying files, I've tried everything I can think of. Someone, please help me.

Weird glitch. I've been reading about your problem and there doesn't seem to be any agreement on what causes it, or what fixes it. Can you remember what you were doing right before it stopped working? Did you by chance shout in town and a guard talked to you?

This is going to sound stupid, but you may have an active script running. Try this: wait for an NPC to use a workstation, then click on the station and make them stop using it, then use it yourself.

Or Shout in town until a guard comes over to tell you to stop it. Then tell him to get stuffed. Try to use it.

If that doesn't work, which it probably won't, slug a guard as hard as you can then let him take you to jail. You'd be surprised how many times that clears glitches for me.

If you haven't already, get the unofficial patches for Skyrim and any of the DLC's you have.

Is anyone having trouble riding a horse or sitting down while they aren't able to use any of the stations?

As - currently I can't use the stations, sit or ride a horse. It acknowledges the command to do so, however with horses: I just stand or bounce and then it disengages; and with stations I just see the person standing in front of it - no menu - and then it disengages.

I've tried a new game and testing mods (in case they are causing it). Haven't found a cause or fix yet...

I was in the process of transfering over to NMM when some mods, including some I refuse to play without, got messed up....and I've been unable to find them again...After wasting many days on playing with whatever is causing this, trying numerous things to fix it, searching for answers with no success, and then having that happen...I opted to bury it in my games list's instead of giving myself any more reason to throw my computer and monitor into the yard and beat them with a shovel...

Eventually I'll probably get back into trying to get things sorted out. If I can find an answer/fix, hopefully I'll remember to post it here.

Playing through it again and this happened to me. I looked up and did a shout, and when I looked back down at the bench I was able to use it.

in case this post isn't dead yet, there is a command to fix this.
figure out what button activates console command imput in your pc,insert player.tai.leave the console, wait 5 seconds, the use the command again.done.
this is a issue with the game,the player's ai is not working properly.doing so forces a reset,causing the game to reload the ai thus fixing this problem.

Another thing that can help. Use a bed for 5 hours. Or else : load a previous save where you were able to use a station, tape in the console : player.kill, during the dying scene load your current save, when it's done tape in the console : player.kill, die and when you're back in game you will be able to use the station.

Prison time worked for me too, plus I found one of the Containers of Fate from the Ordinator mod in the prison. :D
