GECK and Oblivion
I was wondering... Considering TES: IV and TES: V use basically the same engine, how hard would it be to port Cyrodill over to Skrim? I know that the landmass would have to be altered to make the passes work and whatnot, but surely it would be possible?

I'm not talking about adding NPC's/Better graphics/Quests/dungeons. Just having Oblivion's landmass in Skyrim

Quite hard. Different FORMs and model formats.
Also, Bethesda does not allow it. Was a similar project for Morrowind in Oblivion.

Its already being done

There's a project to port Morrwind into the Oblivion engine (Morrowblivion) http://morroblivion.com/ but that started long before Skyrim came along.

Now there's two projects, porting Morrowind *and* Oblivion into Skyrim (Skywind now, the other when Skywind is complete).
They are in no way the same engine. They made the Creation Engine just for Skyrim.

I was expecting a reply like this xD Nope, the engines are basically the same :rage:. Even files in the engine reference Oblivion (Not sure where I read that, though)
