Amren's House.
So most of you know that in the beginning of the game when you get to Whiterun, the guy Amren (I think that's it) asks you to find his family sword. Eventually, after you retrieve the sword, he dies and a courier gives you a letter regarding his death. ANYWAY... I went into Whiterun and found his dead body and looted it and found his house key. I went into his house and his wife is still there and I'm left wondering if I can just live there? Anybody else expierienced this? Is this a glitch?

She still lives there, it's her house. You can't just jack the guy's wife bro, that's just low.

Also, Amren shouldn't have died, you failed the quest. How'd you manage to kill him?

you could just use the space but i dont think the containers are safe . only player owned containers should be trusted and i dont think there are any in his house . theres a few cotainers outside of houses you can buy but most of the containers will eat what ever you put in there eventually .

if it sounds messed up well his wife would be pawning your stuff lol

What? No I don't think you understand. The quest ends with him dying from a vampire attack in Whiterun. I just happened to find his body near the entrance.

.....Thats not the scripted ending. Thats just a random occurence in your game. If someone likes you, ie if you do a quest for them, and they die, you get a little gold as an "inheritance". Any npc in the game can leave you an inheiretance when they die, as long as they can actually die.

Just to reiterate, Amrens death in your game WAS NOT SCRIPTED. Thats not the ending of the quest, it was just something that happened in your world. After you complete his quest, Amren is no longer essential, so he can be killed. Random vampire attacks were added by Dawnguard, they're not in the base game. Amren's quest IS in the base game.
