Perhaps there is a mod that changes it so that it only affects other people's magic?
I can still Conjur with out any issues. I do hate when bugs like that show up though ;P Oh Beth.
Then I would hit 80% with my Breton, Lord, and Alteration Perks. The others will help aborb magic. So if it's not aborbed anyway; I would resist a good amount of damage.

There's a separate patch for vanilla Skyrim, Dragonborn, Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and even the official high res texture pack. I'd recomend installing each patch that's relevant to you and follow their suggested load order.
i went to cast summon seeker and it just absorbs on my over 100% spell absorbtion.
NOT FIX
If you can't use Seeker (which is Dragonborn's) Unofficial Dragonborn Patch should fix it.
