I lost Serena in the Soul Cairn (Dawnguard DLC)

Whlie doing the quest, 'Beyond Death' (I choose to split my soul) Serena dissapeared. I was wandering around the Soul Cairn, when I realised that she was no longer there.

I have tried using both "prid 02002B74" and "player.moveto 02002B74" but it says:
"item '02002B74' not found for parameter ObjectReferanceID"

Am I using the right ID for Serena, or am I using the console commands wrong, or have I somehow lost Serena forever. I need her to initiate the dialouge with her mother to continue the quest. I'd load an older save, but the last save was around 4 hours prior to the event, and all the auto and quick saves happened after losing her.

If you have any suggestions to how I could fix this, it would be greatly appreciated if you posted on this disscussion. Thank You.

Well, I need here to talk to her mother to continue the quest, and I've waited at least 4 in game days for her to appear. She may have glitched while I was fighting some Bonemen, but I wasn't really paying attention to her, as I usually don't have followers. (They get in the way while I'm sneaking). The annoying thing is, the Soul Cairn is SO BIG it would be hard to find her. I don't know why the console commands aren't working, but I've never used them for that purpose before this. I'll have a look at the Follower's Keep Up mod, to see if this will help.

I have tried leaving the Soul Cairn, then re-entering several times, but she has not appeared. I have some ideas on how to solve the issue, so I'll quickly try that before checking the link. (Thanks for the warning about spoilers :D)

I lost Serana too when I was playing the DLC. I eventually found her stuck in battle mode in a place where I was fighting bonemen. Try to retrace your steps through the Soul Cairn and you may find her.

I DID IT! :D I left the Soul Cairn, fast travelled, back to Fort Dawnguard to see if she was still my follower and she appeaed!

Thanks to you 2 who took time to look at and reply to my plea for help. I was nearly going to redo all the questline to get back to that point. :D

Yeah, I used to do that, but I saved a new save every 5 mins or so, so it took up way too much memory. I'll take you're advice and make a new save rather than over-writing old ones, but not leave so little time between. I'm just so used to auto and quicksaves that I rely on them too much.

Also, I agree anything is possible. Some big ball of metal fell out of the sky the other day, shouting "SPACE" at me.

For me she got stuck in the huge building NW of the place where her mother is. Had to Fus Roh Dah her down some stairs. Appearently she thought it was a drop and not stairs.

So guess there might be a problem with stairs?
Just thought I should share. Made us of the guy that suggested to retrace my steps and thought of that place where I last saw her.

I lost Serena also after doing the Jiub ques and Arvak quest. I didn't want to have to fast travel outside of the keep bcause it is a pain to reach the soul cairn, though it reached a point where it was either do that or restart it all. Thanks for the help with the ideas from the people who commented on this, it helped me out.

I retraced my steps and found her on top of a building that you have to teleport to get to and that made her stuck there so i just shouted her down

you've done something wrong on your end then. probably mod or console command related

also good job dredging up this old dead thread that isn't related to your problem
