What do you think is the best House location in Hearthfire?
Mine would probably have to be the house located near Dawnstar

I completely agree. but Falkreath is kinda cool too.

Falkreath. Definitely Falkreath. The house in the Pale has snow, snow, and more snow. I don't know about you, but I get really sick of all that snow really quickly. The one in Hjaalmarch is pretty cool as it's just along the coast of the Ghost Sea and the fish hatchery is really nifty. But I've always loved Falkreath hold. Since day one of playing this game, I've wanted to have a player home in Falkreath. So when I found out that they had one in Hearthfire... Let's just say I was a tad bit ecstatic. This was before I owned the PC version, mind you, so I couldn't just download mods like most others on here would have.

lakeview. It's beside the lake and has great scenery. Also lakeview is much warmer than dawnstar and always have a good weather
Lakeview Manor at noon, looking over the lake from your balcony....There are no words to describe it. Also, Windstad Manor is broken for me. I spend money and resources to build it, but nothing shows up on the plot. Not even the markers. :(

The Dawnstar manor has the best location on the map of the three manors (nice and central, like Whiterun, but without the annoyance of being a city home).

The Morthal manor has the best special feature (restockable fishery - easy source of River Betties for making great poisons).

The Falkreath manor has the best-looking environment.

Lakeview is the only "sensibly located" house in Hearthfire. The Dawnstar house might as well be called "Breezehome 2.0". Hell the house is Morthal makes more sense than Dawnstars.

Not a lot of love for the swamp it seems. I like it best for the fishery, combination snowy / woodsy scenery and cause its neat to see my kids freaking out over the "monsters in the swamp" plus the odd glitch in my game of a new dead dragur showing up on my doorstep every week. "Is it tuesday again, Honey time to clean the zombie off the porch."

I prefer Heljarchen Hall myself. Mainly because it doesn't have a necromancer's altar in the backyard; something tells me that's not a great place to raise kids.

Definitely Falkreath, Lakeview Manor is by far my favorite house, vanilla or modded, and to be honest, I don't even get the thane title for Dawnstar and Morthal to get the other 2 HF houses !!!

Whiterun, the one you buy from the jarl's steward. It might not be the most exquisite house, but it's very centrally located.

lol....... Oops. Well, in that case, I'd have to choose the Pale for it being centrally located NEAR Whiterun. Why? I only fast travel when I use a carriage driver or shipping services in this game, so I walk and occasionally gallop everywhere I go otherwise.

I mainly like the ones located near Falkreath and Morthal. Falkreath - Build a Tower and enjoy the great view. Morthal - I simply enjoy the swamp, Plus, you can get the Icerunner wreck near it. the Dawnstar home was too hard to get... Plus, it looks weirdly combining the plains of whiterun, and the white, pale snow of Dawnstar.
Lakeside(Falkreath) has a nice view, but I keep getting a giant in my garden.
Heljarchen (Dawnstar) is actually nearer Whiterun, the view is ok.
The Morthal one is nearer Solitude and the view is mediocre.

In fact these three houses are so far from the Cities they are pratically nextdoor to another city. Lakeside and Heljarchen are closer to whiterun than the city that gives them to you, and the morthal house is just opposite the Eastern Empire company docks.
