Dragonborn would be a member of the Septim bloodline?
sorry from the bad Inglês in first place.

I was reading some books and stories related to Elder Scrolls series, and what is written, all members of the Septim bloodline, the emperors of Tarmiel were called Dragonborns, by having the blood of Akatosh and to use the Amulet of Kings.

In this case, the only dragonborn had no blood of Akatosh is the St. Alessia, who only received the name by using importance to the world.

But the rest of the emperors, the Septim bloodline, always had the blood of Akatosh and would be a dragonborn.

Would then be the character Dragonborn and by consequence, the Miraak, descendants of Septins? In this case, Dragonborn, it would then Cyrondil emperor after the death of Titus Mede II.

What do you think?

Dragon blood is a gift bestowed by Akatosh and not all Dragonborns are connected to bloodline of Septims.

Akaviri are also Dragonborn, they exterminated the Dragons over there (eaten).

Miraak is also a Dragonborn and he was much much older than St. Alessia's time. That was even before the rise of Ayleids.

I don't think that the Akaviri (the Blades, more specifically) were dragonborn. They just hunted dragons. Also, Dragonborn are chosen by Akatosh, it doesn't actually have anything to do with someones "blood," so it can't be passed down. As in, the Dragonborn's children would not necessarily be Dragonborn.

All the Septims are Dragonborn, but not all Dragonborn are Septims. That pretty much sums up the whole thing.

I have to admit, it would be interesting if Martin maybe had a little love interest at one point that no one knew about... Maybe with some fine-looking Khajiiti girl. I mean, who would ever think to check if a Khajiit is part of the Septim line, eh? Let alone if they're Dragonborn.

Maybe then I could travel to the Imperial City and claim the throne! The first Khajiiti emperor! Yes... That will do nicely... :3 My first decree...? Sweetrolls for everyone! My second decree...? All Thalmor die!

But, Timber Septim is a Nord. The Septim bloodline begins in Skyrim. Is not impossible one or two septins children raise in Skyrim, unaware of his lineage.
Maybe a division of families before the Septim becomes Emperor. A family that is branched from the Septins.
Regardless of race today Dragonborn (Khajits, Arganian or Nord) exist the chance of it being a Septim.

And another, which uses criterion Akatosh to give the gift of being a Dragonborn? It may be someone who is a Septim even far away.

To clarify, only Tiber Septim I, ie TALOS, was a dragonborn. His descendants were not Dragonborns. The state of being dragonborn has nothing to do with genetics or blood (though people say dragonborns have the blood of a dragon). It is more accurate to say that a dragonborn has the soul of a dragon. Dragonborn is NOT something you can pass on. The dragonborn's kids would NOT be dragonborns, especially since you are the last one in Skyrim.

You fulfill the destiny of all dragonborns by killing Alduin. Therefore, there is no need for another dragonborn, and so Akatosh will not choose any other dragonborns. Both Alduin and Miraak in the Dragonborn dlc refer to the player as the last dragonborn. So no more dragonborns, ever.

If you're part of the Imperial family, the most prominent family in all of Tamriel, why on Mundus would you ever want to split away from them? Also, I would imagine that the Emperors and Empresses would want to keep close tabs on anyone who might pop up and claim the throne. Remember that Martin was a bastard child that no one knew about, yet the Emperor still knew to send the Champion of Cyrodiil to find him and help him claim the throne.

The Blades are not the only Akaviri that hunt Dragons. Dragons are hunted and exterminated in Akavir by Vampire-Snake folk, eaten is the word used. Eaten, as in soul absorbed.

While it is agreed that all Septins are in possession of the blood of the dragon, albeit not all of the awake it, not all dragonborns are descendants of the Septim lineage as it is first and foremost a gift of Akatosh. Still, I personally like to imagine how my dragonborn IS a descendant of Martin Septim and the Champion (as in my headcanon they had feelings for each other). Here is the thing about The Elder Scrolls, the reason why your character has no backstory is precisely so that you can imagine they are anything, mine is a Septin, someone else's can be Talos reincarnated or the lovechild of Ulfric and Tulius, that is the charm about RPGs.

Why would you bump a 4-year-old thread?

Lorewise, yes. The Dragonborn you play as would most likely be directly related to the Septim line. Dragonborns have Dragonblood. Therefore, children of the dragonborn, will be dragonborns. Therefore, it would be most likely a Nord living in Skyrim would be a dragonborn. Same thing goes with joining the Stormcloaks even though they can't really survive after beating the Imperials. So if we were to be realistic, most likely the Dragonborn is a Septim.
