Dawnguard Prophet problem

This problem has to do with the Dawnguard side of the Prophet quest in the DLC Dawnguard.

I have run into a problem where, after saving Dexion Evicus from Forebears' Holdout and reporting back to Isran, Dexion won't read the scroll. When I try talking to him my only dialogue options are "What do you know about the Elder Scrolls?" and "What do Moth Priests do exactly?". Help would be much appreciated!

Yeah, I managed to fix it by using the setstage code, most likely in the way InDwiirokDez wrote. I missed the reading of the scroll, but that what's youtube walkthroughs are for :D. I hope it works out for the rest of you.

I encountered this myself recently, encountered it on two different savegames.
Second time, I quicksaved before talking to Isran just in case, and I loaded that after encountering this bug again.
This time, I talked to Dexion Evicus first on a whim and the option to get him to read the scroll was there. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem and just left and did other quests when after 4or5 quests i tried again and it worked fine. However i havent had the same success with being able to pick up Potema's head it seats on the chair but i cant activate it to pick up. a Damn Nuisance.

I had a similiar problem when he would still attack everyone over and over. Here is how I fixed it all.

1. Save the game and exit. Load a different save file.
2. Exit that save file and reload previous/current save.

This was all I needed to do.

having the same problem myself (really frustrating) I am doing the vampire side, and i am stuck in Volkihar keep where the moth priest reads the scroll. he reads it (but not holding it properly) and after he is done speaking, it says (this person is busy when it says I need to command him to read the scroll.
I tried setting the stage, im not sure if i am doing it inccorectly or what. xD little help please.

So, nothing happens when you enter the command? No "Command is unavailable" or anything?

Yeah pretty much nothing. Its not a worry though, my entire game was glitchy becuse alot of other common glitches were happening, like the companions glitch were you must deliver a shiels to the wife of the skyforge smith. I am starting a new game thus my game being gltich, so thanks for your concern. I WISH BETHESDA WOULD FIX THEIR DAMN GLTICHES! xD
