Do you have to wear their specific armour?
Curious because I just joined the Imperial Legion and they gave me their full suit of (heavy) armour. None of it is better than what I already have, so is it ever required that I wear THEIR armour on Imperial-related quests? Does it do anything at all different when I wear it, like make people follow the law/do what I say? Wanted to know if there's any value before I sell it off.

Have you tried to wear alternative Armour during those quests? And if nothing happened, then I'm sure you can wear what you want :)

Though I'm personally not sure about the Armour having certain influential properties, I would imagine the properties (if any) would be displayed in their description OR whilst wearing it, it might have any info of any effects within the active effects list;
(in your TAB>MAGIC>Active effects Menu).

You don't have to wear it. Good for immersion purposes, but if all you wanna do is kill some stormcloaks WHO CARES? lol

Wear whatever you want.

It's very silly when a mere "courier" shows up at an officer's post and the officer doesn't bat an eye when the courier explains that he's not wearing his uniform in order to be able to better blend in... wearing a full suit of ebony armor and with four glowing swords, and with a whole backpack full of noxious chemicals.

Don't ditch couriers, they are meant to be awesome and nuke a whole country just for kick.

You can wear whatever you want. I wore my mages outfit into the Imperial camp and the legate commented that I was not wearing Imperial courier clothes. I just informed him that I was wearing clothes that helped me get through the stormcloak lines. No worries. As far as the different factions go I did not wear any of their armour.

I thank you all for your humorous and helpful contribution. I do agree that there should be an emphasis on faction intelligence... but that might be going too far. Let us prance around Solitude dressed as Ulfric without consequence! >)

There is a civil war overhaul mod.

I have not tested it, but it says, that wearing faction armor has an effect with this mod. If i find some time, i will test it otherwise its up to you to check.

It should make a difference, but it doesn't.

Dis' not ditch, dis' is short for disrespect, ditch is a furrow alongside a road (sometimes it's a drain/sewer, sometimes it's just an elongated hole).

One makes sense the other doesn't.
