Soul Essence Gem (Dawnguard)

Try as I might, I can't find a Soul Essence Gem to get my soul back after entering the Soul Cairn. Anyone have any tips? (This is for Dawnguard)

it took me forever to find that thing , and the 10 pages for the guys book ( thats how i found my soul essence)

There SHOULD be an arrow pointing towards where part of your soul is, if it isn't up, look in your quest log under the mic. You'll find a message at the top saying to get the soul essence gem. Make that active and it should point to where your soul is.

Talk about hiding it in plain view. It is just a matter of looking up in the right place!

i literally spent hours looking for the pages to the guys book , like i said thats how i found my soul , but it did feel good when it was done

ok,I know where my soul essence gem is but when i try to get it, the map tells me that I can't go that way, so what am I to do?

Enter the building under the soul gem. Follow the passages and find the fire hearth in the corner. Jump in it.
