helped me when some guards started to get hostile towards me because an enemy legionary followed me into a city and i killed him.
Basically, I started the 'Fate of the Skaal' quest, finished speaking to Frea and her father (who were knelt in a circle with two other Skaal, powering a protective barrier). Before I continued, I saved, but now when I load the save game, as soon as they see me, they all get up and start attacking me!
I managed to sneak to a building, enter it and come back out hoping it might reset something, but apparently not. I also tried creating a new save inside the building and then going back outside. Then I tried sneaking out of the village, but even outside the village every NPC attacked me.
The calm spell apparently doesn't work on any of them, I've tried beating them all down and loading the save to no avail.
I'm not sure what to do next :(
:)
Thats generally not advisable and probably will break the missions involved with unique npcs.
You make a new copy but it has different IDs, scripts will get broken that way.
Its (typically) no problem with generic noname npcs, those use different ID system.
But you cant just replace important npcs like this... scripts either cant connect to this version of that npc or get confused by having multiple copies to choose from and so on.
And yeah, Vignar is one of the essential people that, i think, never become killable in normal play, since they are important for the main story... so id imagine having his IDs mixed up will break a lot, the whole playthourgh probably.
