The Jagged Crown

I am on The Jagged Crown quest and when I go to turn the rings on the door to stick the Ebony Claw into it doesn't turn. The rings aren't working but my letter to activate them works on everything else. I am wondering if I forgot some information to help me open the door with the Ebony Claw. Please help me figure out how to finish this quest.

Should be the same as with any dragon claw door. Look at the claw in your inventory, use the mouse to move it around and check the inscribed animals on it. Put you cursor on the outer ring and press mouse button until the beast matches the first animal on the claw. Second ring second animal etc. When the door matches the three inscribed dragonclaw beasts, insert the claw in the door.

I did that but when I go up to the door i activate the rings and they don't turn

If that doesn't work, save and reload.

Sometimes, upon approaching the claw door, the rings will not move when activating them. Save and reload or leave the local area (i.e. go back to Korvanjund Temple then re-enter Korvanjund Halls) and the rings will appear differently than before. This is because the game registered the rings moving but didn't show them as moving.
