Skyrim NPC animal twiching bug NEED HELP!
Hello everybody, i've had this npc animal twiching problem for about a month now and i've stopped playing skyrim because its been so annoying. So basically, when your at a mid range to close range near a NPC animal they seem to twitch and fly in the air then fall down and die, and it gets really annoying, i see animals at this distance shake/vibrate or move erattically. It doesn't seem to happen to human NPC's but only for animals. Also, Whenever I run anywhere outdoors, the screen keeps flashing the brownish underwater color really fast at a mid to close range at any that has water or even a whole lake. I don't know whats wrong, i even deleted all of my mods and reinstalled my skyrim twice now. I don't know what else to do.. please if anybody has fixed this issue.. please do let me know. I'm beginning to feel that i should quit skyrim now. Thanks for reading.

Anybody please....? oh my gosh.. am i the only person througout millions of people who play skyrim that has never gone through this problem ever?

It happens to me too, basically what's happening is the NPC is getting "trapped" under the cell and the rag doll physics aren't sure what to do. I don't know if there is a fix for that, at least this seems to happen when they die. Are the critters still alive when this happens for you?

edit: Also have you tried googling the issue?

Yes even when they are alive it still happens. I also tried googling it and i have no luck, probably the best one that i got out of it is this link right here... Not much of a help though.

When you say you deleted all your mods, did you then reinstall them after reinstalling the game? Or are you playing without the mods now? If you activated your mods again, could one of them be causing the problem? Did you have a mod that affected animals?

Also have you verified your game cache?

EDIT: One other thing, would the Unofficial Skyrim Patch help?

One more thought. Have you tried tweaking your graphics settings? I'm not sure what to advise on this, but I think higher settings can contribute to stuttering in Skyrim

Ok, I came across some ideas on video settings. Take a look at the suggestions on this forum, particularly the green-checked one (and the next one). It mentions NOT disabling V-Sync and keeping FPS rates limited.

Yes, this is the 120 fps bug, it can be fixed by limiting your frame rate to just under 120. I think there is an option in Nvidia Inspector for 119fps or 60fps which removed this problem along with the "jumping clutter when indoors physics" bug.

You can download Nvidia Inspector from Guru3d.com: http://downloads.guru3d.com/NVIDIA-Inspector-1.94-download-2612.html I think there is an updated version that autodownloads after installation.

Open Nvidia Inspector and click on the small tools button. From here we can edit Global Settings (Global_Driver_Profile) and also individual Games' settings. Click the little down arrow to the left of the house shaped button (Profiles Dropdown Menu) and select "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" from the list. Look for "Frame Rate Limiter" and change it to 119 or 60 or whatever you wish. I hope this works for you!

ahh i see.. yes i did made some changes in my nvida control panel to boost up my fps and changed my resolution and skyrim graphic's settings lower so i can get 100 + fps and i do have over 100 fps. I'll try and do what you said and i'll see if it works.

This may be related. the Shadow Stripping and it's allegidly repaire patch. and the Repair Stripping MOD the stripping reappears if the Antiostropic is set above 8. I use 4. The stripping ends with the Stripping MOD and starts again at 12 thats why i lowered it. Since I lowered that Antisottropic I have fewer instances of flying/falling animlas. It still happends rarely. I also have my View distances maxed except grass which is at Min. No Shadows and MIN on grass helps FPS without over tweeking.

Not sure if it has anything to do with whats happening to you but might as well try it.

Thank you for this thread. I had this annoying bug where the whole screen started vibrating, my character started swimming in the air and I couldn't figure out what happened. Never would have guessed my FPS went too far in outdoor locations.

Good thread. Too bad i run a AMD GPU and cannot use Nvideas easy access.... If anyone with an AMD can help me on how to set my FPS to around 60 i would really appreciate it... cuz i tried and my FPS still sits at 65. Mammoths violently shake from a distance but are stable when you get close. Elk tend to shoot right up! xD I feel your pain!

I have this problem, I did exactly what was said to do, i changed my framerate in inspector to 120, 119, 118, 75, 60, 58 i did adaptive, and non edaptive, i did vsync on and off for all options, some things made it worse, but never better, this problem is not solved. dont care how many threads point to 120hz refresh rate, mine didnt fix it. my problem is cows, elk, and wolves blink at a far range, however so far ONLY elk shoot up into the air then die, the wolves and cows dont go 20 feet up, they just hop/ dance 3 feet or more above the grass, the elk will do that aswell. framrate changing to 119 and 60 BOTH now make humans blinky like the elk, but they dont fly. so my problem is almost identical to the one listed and i listened to your solution step by step anf then some....no luck...so AGAIN, ANY HELP?
