Can't get access to Dimhollow Cavern

OK, so I've taken the randomized companion quest "Trouble in skyrim". In the description it tells me to kill the leader of dimhollow crypt but the quest arrow takes me to dimhollow cavern, where I'm met with an iron gate (closed) and a door opening chain just painfully out of reach on the other side of the door. I tried going into Dimhollow crypt but there's nowhere to go. There's a rock blocking what looks like a connecting path between Dimhollow crypt and dimhollow cavern but I'm at a loss as to how to move it? I've googled the crap out of this and have come up with nothing. Anyone having the same issue and if so did you find a solution? It's worth noting I have zero mods as some users have had issues with being able to exit dimhollow crypt and removing the mods it fix it. Any help is much appreciated. :)

You'll need to start the Dawnguard quest for that rock to be removed, thus allowing you to kill the leader of Dimhollow Crypt.

Having been given your assignment from Isran, go investigate Dimhollow Crypt. As you enter the first room you will overhear two vampires conversing. Accompanying the two vampires is a single death hound. Here you will find the body of Vigilant Tolan near the bodies of two dead vampires. You will also notice a closed gate, blocking progress deeper into the cavern. After disposing of the vampires and their death hound, turn your attention to the opposite side of the room from which the closed gate is located. You will see a stone structure. Enter it to find a number of useful items, including a leveled sword in a draugr coffin and a couple of leveled potions. At the top floor of the structure you will find a pull chain to open the gate at the other side of the room.

Yep, had a similar problem once, tho, I basicly restarted Skyrim and it worked.

I did't have to start the first quest, I just uninstalled dawngaurd and it seemed to fix it, but Dawngaurd is a good questline anyways so just start it

Had the same problem yesterday. Came here to find answers and it worked, getting the first quest from Dawnguard does let you in, but problem is I cannot go to Fort Dawnguard as a Vampire so I had to cure myself first...

If you can't be bothered starting the dawnguard questline and don't mind cheating a little bit you can just noclip throught the rocks (just type "tcl" in the console command to toggle collisions on/off) and it will let you continue with the quest
