Report a translation problem
EXAMPLE:
first, the name of your faction.
go to the console and type help "your faction name" 4
you're going to want to look around using the page up and page down keys until you find something that will look like this:
FACT: (faction code) then there will be the name of your faction in quotations
your going to type player.addfac "the factions code"

Here are the two commands you'll need:

You can, for instance, make an NPC with a dialogue option for joining a faction. Then attach a script at the end of the dialogue that makes the player join the faction, then give yourself the rank you wish.
You could also make it a quest. Or even a spell if you're so inclined.
