Why do I die so quick?
So I play as Khajiit, focused on Stealth, Archery and One-Hand Mastery. However, I've been recently forced to upgrade my Light-Armor perks because I've been getting killed so easily. I tend to sneak and cut my enemies throat or just shot them, but sometimes I have to face certain enemies (e.g dragons or groups of 3/4 people), when my health points goes down so quickly. I can understand magic knocks me down fast, since I have no protection against it, but damn... physical dmg is generally so high, too.

For instance, yesterday I was doing the Azura's Star quest and got 1 shot killed by those daedras, and some random bandit archers I met around Skyrim kills me with 2/3 shots.

I'm level 41, wearing an improved Crystal Armor set. Also, I have Agile Defender lv 4/5 and Custom Fit (25%+ Armor wearing all Light armor)

Any suggestion?
Thanks in advance!

I run the game on its hardest mode. Cleared a dungeon only to find I have to do it again because my companion died a while back. Now I have to turn the difficulty down to easiest to avoid smashing my everything.

Back in the day, I tried Oblivion at the hardest difficulty setting, and was killed by rats during the tutorial. heh.

Try legendary difficulty with the Nightmare difficulty for dragons, and fight the weakest one. i used a 50 damage weapon and i barely glanced it. it was fun while i was un-cooked, though...

Glancing back at Morrowing and Daggerfall, Skyrim, in comparison, seems to let every mistake you make slip.

when you sneak or use ranged alot you dont get hit much. your armor rank is probably sub par versus a pure melee character by your level since they get hit more . buy your 5 levels of armor training every character level so you dont fall behind

At level 40+ your health should be 300+and your armor even with light armor 500+,you should have 2x enchantment on ever piece of gear, armor even for a mage is a must, stick and get out, avoid the return damage, dragonborn use your shout, very handy, have followers to help and take some of the heat off you,use ward spells good shield from magic.Played on Expert and Master.
Just get some steel armor,a horse, and uthgerd. Then you should be fine.

...and then pick their pocket to get your money back. :) [if you're going to be a Thief type, might as well go all-in, eh? :]

unrelenting force (interupt), pre poisoned dagger with paralyze on, paralyze staff, mana drain with a heavy drain enchant or lightning (caster disable), knockdown (power attacks, shouts), invisability potion + sneak attack, resist potion, resist enchants, sap their fatigue (knockdown)

shield bash, cook some different soups/stews for fatigue regen+ percentile fatigue regen and a fatigue absorb weapon, then bash lock them

or invis potion and flee, come back when you can handle the fight

intel can help, detect life/detect undead (or the shout) and invis/stealth

frenzy is powerful aswell

summons via skill or staff

destruction runes + impact perk (staggers enemies on detonation)

resto ward spells "armor/magic reduce"
