Meridia's beacon glitch.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I know I'm not the only one.
If you don't know;
It's this glitch where you take Meridia's beacon back to her, once you finish the quest she hovers you into the sky and Idk what's supposed to happen, I think the screen is supposed to fade to white and spawn you to safety (cutscene kinda?) before you hit the ground.
Instead, I hit the ground and it instantly kills me.
I had to start a new game because it kept glitching me back to hovering in the sky and repeatively killing me.
Is there any solution because I'd really like to go back to my old save file. xx

It sounds like your not being let back to the ground so you dont die after the video affect with her. Dont know why your having the glitch but here is a solution. Open the console. If you dont know how you hit the squiggle line left of the number 1 key. Then type in TCL and hit enter. This turnes off the collision or clip mode. You will not fall then. You will hover like your flying. You also can travel through walls but be carfull what you do cuz this can cause even more problems. So then just move close to the ground then open the console again hit the UP arrow then enter. This will turn the collision back on and you will fall back to the ground but this time you will be close to it and not die.

were you a vampire when this happened? because lore-wise that would make sense, even if it has absolutely nothing to do with the glitch, it makes it funnier.

I was just there and got thrown into the air along with her. Nice view.

Then i CTD and cannot start Skyrim at all anymore. It's stuck on preparing to launch Skyrim.

I really cant deal with all these CTD's anymore so once again its getting deleted. Friggen shame cos when i am "in the game" its nice and expansive but the CTD's are just too brutal a reminder of reality.

Do you only use official stuff, or are you a collector of mods?

I have now 975 hours in Skyrim...I have done the quest several times with different char...but have yet to be killed or CTD on this.

I have about 30 mods installed....I have had several CTD because of other mods, but they I have now seems to work together.

The official game have bugs, but most of the blame on Beth is because we ourself put to much in.
There is no way a Gamehouse can forsee what will be created when they deliver a construction set....Most of what is created function as intended, IF!! you play it together with the official game....it is when you start to put in several mods problems start to occure, because they might give oposite comands, which the game solution is CTD.

So in 95% of CDT you might find the cause done by other then the original game imho :)

I kept crashing to the ground and dying after accepting dawnbreaker and finishing the quest. I followed Trigger's advice and waited until 12:00 noon to activate dawnbreaker. I made sure I saved just before then. I floated to the ground and survived after that. So this worked for me.

Simple answer that worked for me, try falling towards the safe zone and you might be able to catch the safety net zone.

I had my difficulty on Adapt. I died several times after she dropped me (20 to be exact). The last time, however, I set my difficulty to Novice (the lowest setting). This time, I landed without taking any damage and set my difficulty back up to Adept. Try that and see if it works.

Walk back into the light and look up to the sky, she will continue her speech a put you back down. This is what worked for me after I walked as far as I could and even tried reloading. I was so relieved when I looked up and saw a second ball of light and she continued.

Have you skyrim unofficial patch installed.

I played Meridia's Beacon five times around without the Unofficial patches and never had this problem. so don't think they are really necessary.

You could use the console command TGM so you wouldn't die from the fall.

Looking up towards her face worked for me after glitching 3 times in a row. Seemed like it still glitched at first but she did set me back down easy. I am not using mods.

Not sure if anyone still needs this but I just managed to do it, so when you're up in the sky, look straight down and stand directly above the bright light that is in front of the Meridia Statue with your crosshair in the centre of the bright light below

After that go through the chat prompts and once that is done I kept jumping on the spot to give myself extra height therefor giving the game more time to load the drop off but I'm not sure if it is needed
