Any suggestions on how to obtain Calcelmo's Falmer Translating Guide in the Dwemer museum. I can't get past the guards without them attacking me(even with an invisability potion).

you have to sneak past them or kill them

Sneaking doesn't work and they are guards so i was afraid to kill them for fear of reprecussions.

well you will be framed by some douches later anyway so the gurads will hunt you anyway

Long time ago(over half a year ago), I completed it on my High Elf over-achiver(finished all quest lines). Using invisabillty potion helps, but very little becuase when you move past the gurds they will still notice you. I drank it and run right to the door, starting to unloking it, they cant attack you while you are in lock pick screen. One of them might try to arrest you every 3-4 broken lock-picks, just ignore him and keep trying. When you unlock the door enter it as fast as you can. The gurds will follow but if you kill them inside the dwemer ruin this wont count as crime becuse the "last whitness" to it is dead. Inside expct dwemer outomotons, falmer and Calthelmo's body gurds, all leveled to your level. You escape the ruin by jumping into the head of the waterfall from the balcony.

I killed all of them in the sneakmode with a bow :D

You can get your sneak skill/ sneak item enchants up high enough to walk right past them, no problem...

sneak as much as possible using the valve traps to create diversions where possible, I have made it through without killing any one but it took a lot of paitence, watching the guards patterns I also had a high sneak level

I usually hack and slash through that. Though I used a lot of potions through it. Maybe use the above if you can't afford the potions.

or just do it on higher lvl when the character is awesome :P

True, but what if the asker isn't a high level and saved his quicksave and autosave to the tower.

Maybe try wait awhile in sneak for them to come up, and get out of there?! And use your potions (what you have).

Made it through! Pissed off alot of guards but I did it. Thanks for all your suggestions!

What I did to get the book from him, buy a dwarvan arrow fro the guy in huntsmen in whiterun, guy will show up outside give you a letter, Calemeco asking for a dwarven arrow give it to him in markharth, he has 2 or 3 quest for you to do, when I needed for Dwermer Falmear questlime I just asked for it, he didnt want give it to me, but sweet talk him in to it.
