Unfortunately I quicksaved after resetting the tree, and my most recent prior save is the autosave before meeting Sahrotaar before the fight with Miraak. I already had to redo that fight three times due to Miraak bugs. I'm really not looking forward to having to do it a fourth time to get my perk points back. :/
I'm also experiencing the same exact bug with the 'Return to Solstheim' function of the Black Books not working, although I agree, I don't think it's related to the perk points bug.
Lets check that.
How many here are using perk tree mods and having a problem resetting the legendary skill. There was a stated conflict during the beta that affects ALL PERK TREE mods. So that may be the cause.
No offense but what you posted in your reply is sheer ignorance, not to mention trying to dictate what mod might be causing the problem.
You really have no clue how a mods in Skyrim can screw something up completely unrelated to what the mod is about as well as you may not even see the problem until 20 hours further down the line out of nowhere when you've forgotten all about the mod. And I'm not saying that to be a jerk or anything I'm saying that because there is no actual way to know that, there is just too many things to go through and you can spend a week connecting just one thing, and still may not be done..
For example
Follower mods can affect things in houses from not showing up, horse mods can affect cooking, potion mods can affect weather, a nav meshed mod can mess up quest lines. A whether mod can mess up Dragon Riding while it takes both to affect your shouts.
The list is infinite
This is because Skyrim isn't programmed to read data the way people are being lead to believe. Logic for mods cannot be applied to these problems. It's just the way it is
If people took the time to realize that they have absolutely no idea what data is connected to other data in Skyrim. And I'm not saying no one knows this because they're stupid or anything like that, I'm saying that because it's impossible to know how many things are interconnected, and how many sub things are interconnected in those connections, and it just keeps going like that.
INFORMATION COURTESY OF tx3000.
And this is the exact reason why tx3000 keeps saying mods are not made correctly. People make mods without understanding how skyrim is put together, and when the mod is put into the game, they have no idea what type of disruption its causing because they don't know what data is connected to what and what Sub data is connected to that either.
TBH everyone trashes tx3000 but he has more understanding about this than anyone on the forum which explains why he is able to solve people's problems where others cannot. And there's no denying that either, because every single person who contacts him, has come back to the forum saying he solved their problem and it's usually nothing to do with all the other solutions people post in the topic, So obviously he knows what he's doing.
So instead of trashing someone, and bickering back and forth, why don't you contact him and at least try to get along.
What's the worse that could happen, you'll actually learn something from him?
SHOCKER!
I skipped the rest of your post because you decided to be rude to a guy who was agreeing with you for no reason and in an uncalled for manner.
Since you wanted a pissing contest, here are my mods. The Oblivion mods won the Nexus mod of the month 7 times in a row with 7 different mods, they are mostly large quest mods, the most difficult mods to make and are PROOF I have been practicing what you have RECENTLY started preaching for about 7 years now.

Whilst I agree with your point because it has my own point too for over half a decade now. I do not care much for your attitude.
I have only two mods installed: The Reserve and Unlimited Bookshelves.
I'm reluctant to turn off either because doing so would require a great amount of work on my part in removing items from various shelves and from the house.
It also seems to me unlikely that either of these two mods could be causing the problem.
I get where you're coming from, and where tx3k is coming from, but the problem is the assertion in every single case that it's a mod conflict causing the problem. And the phone conversation with Tx doesn't help in the least.
Summary of the relevant part of that conversation: Bethesda doesn't stand behind third party mods, and won't offer support where a player is using such a mod as ethesda can make no warranties about the effects of such mods on game play. No surprise there, it's just a statement of the obvious.
That's a very LONG ways away though from supporting the assertion that all issues are created by mods, or supporting the assertion that any particular issue is caused by a mod. Fact is, every patch that Bethesda comes out with fixes self-admitted bugs that are found in Bethesda's own content (remember, they won't address anything arising from third party mods.)
Sometimes it takes a long time for Bethesda to address something... for example, it looks like it's only in the latest patch that they fixed an issue with Utob which effectively made it impossible to start the quest that ends in the player getting Volendrung. That issue has been there since Skyrim was first released. The first mod I downloaded was actually a 3rd party patch that fixed that very issue.
So, in this case and many others, you may *happen* to be right, but unless you can point to the specific conflict, a) who knows if you are, and b) the blanket statement isn't very helpful.
Considering that you or Tx --who you seem to be in contact with -- claim to know very well how the game works, helping users like the OP narrow down the problem and what mods may cause the issue would actually be productive.
Continuously repeating this is both unwarranted without evidence to backup the assertion, and not helpful in the least.
Roarmiaka, would you be willing to post the mods you have? As you and BidderBahdo both have the same issue, seeing where there's overlap might be helpful in narrowing down where the issue is caused by a mod conflict, if any. And Bidder, might be helpful to post the mods you have disabled as well.
Just a suggestion.
