Not Absorbing Dragon Souls
Hello all. After several months of play with a number of popular mods (I don't run the ones with lots of bugs) I loaded up a game today. I slew a dragon but no soul transferred. I could Search him for loot but no Soul. Started a new game and the first dragon attack by the watchtower was the same...no soul. The NPCs also didn't register him as being dead. Is this a known issue with a Mod or the core game? Is there a fix? Help!

Respawned dragons do not give up souls only loot. But it could be a mod problem.

Go to your properties and do a mod scan. The scan will find all mods that will do things like that and you can diselect them. Hope I helped:)

If you have the Dragonborn expansion installed make sure you have the unoffical bug fix for Dragonborn it help me with this problem

not true. i often revisit dragon lairs to soul-farm. all dragons should always give a soul. if it doesnt its because its bugged. sometimes it seems like i dont get a soul if a kill a dragon too quickly. sometimes at lvl 50 ill encounter plain old weak "dragons" and i kill em with two shots from my bow... no soul for me

I certainly can't kill dragons too quickly in a new game. So where can I find this 'Properties' control to check for conflicts?

In your steam client right-click on Skyrim. You'll find Properties in the context menu.

It's is true, sort of. It's a glitch the USKP changes so re-spawned dragons do give souls.

i have no mods, and the dragon give me neer alway her soul, it's happen only two time i have not receive her soul in more than 900 hours of play..., i don't think you need to patch anything, you just need to find the mods they make you unable to take the soul of the dragon...

Ok...found the Properties and verified all the files. Game found 1 missing and recaptured it (or so it said) during the reload. Still no soap. If I unload the core game and download it again will that work and will I lose all my saves?

i don't have the pc version yet but i play it on xbox and that happened when i killed a dragon then another dragon attacked i killed it and got it's soul but not the first one so i walked of did some stuff and came back and i got the soul. i hope this helpsXD

Your thinking of patch 1.2 which was a general problem, not just re-spawned wyrms. The issue with re-spawned dragons in lairs is still prevalent on PC. Actually, it's the USKP's fix for this issue that is causing the current problems with Dragonborn.

As far as I know the last major instance of this bug started with the release of Dragonborn, as it edited something that the Unofficial Skyrim Patch also changed. The Unofficial Dragonborn Patch should have been updated far enough to include the fix for that at this point so if you do use the USKP, try the Dragonborn patch with it

Even with the unoffical dragonborn patch it doesn't work
I have tried player.modav dragonsouls 1 to give me a dragon soul but to no avail.

Without this I can't progress in the game as I can't unlock the shouts, unless there's a console command to unlock the damn things.

Really disappointed with this, the game has been out for two years. It should be fixed.
